Global manga and anime producer VIZ Media and specialty distributor Fathom Entertainment are joining forces to premiere BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity. The exclusive US theatrical event will showcase the first three episodes of the groundbreaking anime’s final season before its official broadcast and streaming debut.
Following the franchise’s monumental return in 2022 to adapt its climactic arc, the current run has been heavily praised for its animation quality, explosive action choreography, and Shiro SAGISU’s acclaimed score. The narrative plunges directly into the destruction of the Thousand-Year Blood War, focusing on the Royal Guard Squad Zero confronting Yhwach as he steps into the Reio Greater Palace. As the death of the Soul King mirrors the collapse of the Three Worlds, the Thirteen Court Guard Squads must join forces with surviving Quincies to battle within the ominously transformed Wahr Welt.
In addition to the highly anticipated episodic screenings, the special US premiere will feature an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation focusing on the show’s production. Fans will gain direct insights from legendary series creator Tite Kubo, chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi, and series director Hikaru Murata. This entire theatrical engagement will be widely available to audiences nationwide, offering both subtitled and English-dubbed formats for all three episodes.
BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity hits US theatres nationwide from June 25 to June 29 via Fathom Entertainment. Tickets will be available online and at participating theatre box offices starting May 29.
