A rare 2008 RUF RGT is set to cross the auction block at Bonhams Cars, estimated to fetch as much as $950,000 USD. One of just 14 RGTs reportedly produced by RUF, this example was factory-built in Pfaffenhausen with the coveted “W09” VIN designation and initially commissioned by Samsung Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
Based on the 997-gen Porsche GT3, this RGT is more than a cosmetic exercise. RUF reengineered the car with upgraded internals for its 3.8L DOHC Mezger flat-six, producing 445 hp through a six-speed manual transaxle. A bespoke Bilstein suspension setup and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes round out the performance package.
The car’s most captivating feature, however, is its one-of-one “Chromaflash Hologram Silver” paintwork, a dynamic, color-shifting finish that adds drama to its already aggressive carbon bodywork. Inside, the RGT is finished in blue leather and equipped with sport seats and a full roll cage.
Presented with a RUF Zertifikat, two keys, books and a service logbook, this RGT represents a special opportunity to own a piece of bespoke RUF history. The Chromaflash Hologram Silver RUF RGT will be offered as part of Bonhams Cars’ upcoming The Miami Auction, set to kick off on May 3.
