Watch the First Teaser for ‘Euphoria’ Season Two

Watch the First Teaser for ‘Euphoria’ Season Two

HBO has dropped off the first teaser for Euphoria season two, along with its official release date: January 9, 2022.

The teaser does not reveal much in regards to the plot of the upcoming season; however, it does center on Rue (Zendaya) as she dances and sings along to Frank Sinatra’s “Call Me Irresponsible” before flashing between a slew of party scenes.

“When you’re younger, everything feels so permanent,” Rue narrates in the visual. “But as you get older, you begin to realize nothing is and everyone you love can drift away.”

The trailer also provides a new look at previous cast members Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Barbie Ferreira (Kat) and Maude Apatow (Lexie). Additionally, vocalist Dominic Fike will be added to the cast in the upcoming season.

Speaking of the second season in an interview with Teen Vogue earlier this year, Zendaya said, “It’s a difficult season. It’s going to be hard and it’s gonna be devastating sometimes, but I think Rue really deserves all of that care when it comes to her character because I think she represents a lot for so many people.”

“I hope to make those people proud with our depictions of Rue [and] where all the characters go. I think this season’s not going to be easy, though,” she added. “It’s not going to be a fun watch, I don’t think. Sometimes.”

The first season, which premiered back in 2019, was followed by two specials — the first, Trouble Don’t Last Always, released in December 2020, and the second, F*** Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob, aired in January of this year.

Euphoria season two will premiere on HBO Max on January 9. Watch the teaser above.
