Universal’s Wicked: For Good is looking to earn over $200 million USD in the global box office during its opening weekend.

Deadline reports that the sequel could rake in over $125 million USD to $150 million USD from 4,000 theaters in the US and Canada, along with more than $70 million USD from global markets. The first Wicked opened with $112.5 million USD domestically and $164 million USD worldwide, setting a new start record for adaptations of Broadway musicals. Its sequel is set to surpass those numbers.

Wicked: For Good sees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo reprise their roles as Glinda and Elphaba, and will take place years after its predecessor. Elphaba is now a fugitive called the “Wicked Witch of the West,” while Glinda is referred to as “Glinda the Good.” Their friendship continues to get tested all the while facing the arrival of Dorothy.
