FOLA Unveils Debut Album “catharsis”
Nigerian rising star FOLA has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, “catharsis,” a deeply personal project that navigates the themes of emotion, identity, and healing with striking sonic elegance.
The title “catharsis” reflects the album’s core intention—“the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.” Each of the 11 tracks unfolds like an intimate diary entry, weaving stories of vulnerability, resilience, and artistic growth.
The project boasts stellar collaborations with Kizz Daniel, Young Jonn, Victony, and Gabzy, amplifying its depth and versatility.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the album, FOLA explained:
“This album is like building a soul hospital, looking for something to cleanse and repair your soul. I want people to listen to these songs and let go of their worries. I want people to do more after listening to these songs.”
Leading up to the release, FOLA teased audiences with singles including “eko,” “you,” and “lost” featuring Kizz Daniel, each offering a glimpse into the project’s emotional resonance.
With “catharsis,” FOLA delivers not just an album but a healing experience—an invitation for listeners to reflect, release, and rediscover themselves through music.
