Olivia Dean’s Beauty Looks Are Peak RomCom Realness—9 Moments That Made Us Fall In Love

Some singers sound like they belong on the soundtrack of a 2000’s RomCom (giving voice to nostalgic characters like Bridget Jones), while others embrace an aesthetic on and off the red carpet that looks as if they just stepped out of one. When Dean posed for the cameras outside of a Valentino fashion show in October 2023, she wore a stunning purple, sequined dress by the designer featuring delicate floral details from it’s A-line hem to the scoop neckline. Her makeup look, created with cool tones to quietly offset the vibrance of the eye-catching jewel tones, was created with matte eyeshadow shades. Dean was photographed at a London Fashion Week Party wearing a disco-inspired look reminiscent of the playful sequined outfits worn by another singer-songwriter with high volume tresses: Donna Summer. This time, Dean opted for a glowing complexion complemented by her signature strong brows, glossy pink lips, and rose-toned shimmering eyeshadow that resembles romantic candlelight. She made her appearance at Chanel’s Womenswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show with bronzed skin (the result of an illuminating bronzer placed on her forehead, cheeks, and nose), berry-toned lips, flushed cheeks, and full brows to frame the entire masterpiece. While it was her complexion that took center stage, Dean’s simple-yet-cheek eye look also stands out with sleek liner and a flirty lash.

While the songstress looks as if she’s stepped out of a Parisian fairytale with bronzed skin, the dewy makeup look Dean was photographed wearing at Chanel’s Haute Couture show currently lives rent free in our minds. Created by London-based makeup artist Emily Engleman, this look consisted of a fresh base (A.K.A. the epitome of glass skin), natural-looking flushed cheeks, and pink, pouty lips to match. The look pairs beautifully with her classic black, white, and pink Chanel suit.

In case you missed it, Dean’s song “It Isn’t Perfect But It Might Be” was featured on the soundtrack of the newest installation of Bridget Jones, and it went viral in the months following the movie’s release. For the movie’s premiere, Dean stepped in front of the cameras wearing The Own Studio’s The Curve Between the Line dress in black and sky-high pumps styled by Simone Beyene. Dean’s makeup, also by Engleman, features full, fluffy brows, glossy mahogany lips, and a pearlescent highlighter to put her cheekbones on display.

Fall might be reaching it’s conclusion but we can’t get enough one of the season’s biggest beauty trends: toasty makeup. While attending the Burberry S/S 26 show, Dean was photographed wearing this warm-toned makeup look by Aimee Twist featuring red-brown blush dusted on the cheeks, nose, and temples, wispy lashes, and brown, defined lips. That brings us to the gorgeous, pink-toned makeup look Dean wore to the 2025 CFDA Awards at the American Museum or Natural History created for her by Twist. For the eyes, her makeup artist opted for a shimmering blush shade paired with long, defined lashes. As with a number of Dean’s other best makeup looks, this one includes a pink flush to the cheeks, a matte lip, and fluffy arched brows. What we love the most about this makeup look, however, is that her natural skin (freckles, and all) shines through.
