Summary

  • Netflix dropped the teaser for the four-part documentary series Sean Combs: The Reckoning, premiering December 2
  • The visual hints at Diddy’s arrest and features an audio clip of him discussing seeking help with “dirty business”
  • The series, executive produced by 50 Cent, promises to examine the media mogul’s rise and the dark underworld beneath his empire

Netflix has debuted the official teaser for Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the upcoming four-part documentary series from Curtis “50 Cent’ Jackson and Alexandria Stapleton.

The one-minute visual previews unseen footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs less than a week before his arrest in September 2024. Diddy can be seen speaking to somebody on the phone about needing “to find somebody that’ll work with us, that has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business.” He continues, “We’re losing.”

Images and clips of the music exec from different eras flash across the clips, including one with his ex-girlfriend and victim Cassie Ventura. There’s also videos of his home being raided by law enforcement, as well as CCTV footage of somebody (presumably Diddy) being held against the wall as he gets arrested.

The Reckoning is billed as “a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender.” The official synopsis continues:

“Born with an insatiable drive for stardom and a knack for spotting talent, Combs made a quick ascent through the ranks of the music industry with Bad Boy Entertainment and was crucial in bringing hip-hop to the pop masses and launching the careers of dozens of generation-defining artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane. But along the way, and as detailed by his former associates, childhood friends, artists, and employees, something darker began to color his ambitions. Through explosive, never-before-seen materials (including footage from the days leading up to Combs’s indictment and arrest, and exclusive interviews with those formerly in his orbit), this documentary tells the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built — and the underworld that lay just beneath its surface.”

Watch the teaser above. Sean Combs: The Reckoning premieres December 2 on Netflix.
