Snoop Dogg Named Team USA’s First Honorary Coach for 2026 Winter Olympics

Snoop Dogg has announced that he’ll become the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

The rapper revealed the news in a LinkedIn post, reflecting on his experience meeting the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

“From the moment I rolled into Paris, I was instantly welcomed into the USOPC family,” he wrote. “I felt the energy, the pride, and the love of sport that make this team special. The way the staff lifts up the athletes… the way the athletes inspire the world… it had me hooked from day one.”

In his post, Snoop explained his role as being “all about celebrating and supporting athletes beyond what fans see on the field of play.”

“I’m here to bring my voice, my heart, and maybe a little wisdom from the sidelines… to help motivate Team USA, shine a light on the full athlete journey, and uplift the people who make their dreams possible,” Snoop added.

According to a press release, Snoop’s immediate responsibility is “lending his voice to build awareness for the Team USA Fund, which provides direct resources to help athletes reach their full potential.” 100% of contributions to this fund are allocated directly to programs for mental health, education, training, competition, and career-transition support.

This move follows his starring appearance as NBC’s special correspondent at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he also served as a torchbearer for the Olympic flame ahead of the Opening Ceremony.

With Snoop also set to reprise his NBC role next year, he will be pulling double duty when the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games kick off on February 6th.
