The Super Mario Galaxy Movie casting directors stuck out their tongues and laid a big, green-speckled egg with this one (complimentary), casting Donald Glover as Yoshi.
The news comes alongside the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Other casting announcements include Issa Rae as Honeyqueen and Luis Guzman as King Wart. Chris Pratt returns with his accent-less Mario, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Jack Black (Bowser), and Keegan-Michael Key (Toad). Benny Safdie joins as Bowser Jr., Kevin Michael Richardson plays the Magikoopa Kamek, and Brie Larson voices Princess Rosalina.
The trailer itself is heavy on colorful action and light on plot, so it seems like we’ll have to wait for the April 1st release date to know if Mario has to sacrifice Yoshi to make that big jump. Check out the trailer below.
