Netflix and AMC Global Media have struck a $500 million USD co-exclusive licensing deal for the entire ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise
The five-year pact covers 371 episodes across the original show and all six spinoff series starting in 2027

Netflix and AMC Global Media have officially inked a five-year, $500 million USD co-exclusive global licensing deal to share streaming rights for the complete The Walking Dead universe. The massive agreement covers 371 episodes across the flagship series and all six spinoffs starting in 2027.
The unprecedented partnership covers the original The Walking Dead alongside Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tales of The Walking Dead. Under the terms of the agreement, AMC+ will stream the original flagship series for the first time after Netflix held exclusive U.S. streaming rights since 2011.
In addition to maintaining its U.S. presence, Netflix will expand availability for the full television franchise across international territories, including the U.K., Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, as existing regional licensing deals expire.
The complete The Walking Dead universe begins streaming co-exclusively on Netflix and AMC+ in 2027.
