Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
Sheeran’s First Global 200 No. 1
After debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200, spending a second week at the rank and dropping to No. 3, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” ascends to No. 1, granting him his first week atop the chart. The song reigns with 67.5 million streams (down 2%) and 40,700 sold worldwide (down 7%) in the July 16-22 tracking week.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” holds at No. 2 in its second week on the Global 200 and Måneskin’s “Beggin’ ” returns to its No. 3 high, from No. 5. (“Beggin’ ” also becomes the Italian quartet’s first top 40 hit on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100, jumping 41-35; the composition ranks in the Hot 100’s top 40 for the first time since April 1967, when the 4 Seasons’ version peaked at No. 16.)
Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” repeats at No. 4, after six weeks at No. 1 on the Global 200, and BTS’ “Permission to Dance” drops to No. 5, a week after launching at No. 1, down 52% to 82 million streams and 78% to 30,100 sold worldwide.
‘Bad Habits’ Back to No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. Chart
Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” rebounds from No. 2 for a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 53.6 million streams (essentially even week-over-week) and 25,100 sold (down 10%) in territories outside the U.S. in the July 16-22 tracking week.
BTS’s “Permission to Dance” dips to No. 2 in its second week on the Global Excl. U.S. survey, ceding the summit with 73.6 million streams (down 53%) and 22,800 sold (down 76%) outside the U.S.
Måneskin’s “Beggin’ ” rises 4-3 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, after reaching No. 2, and BTS’ “Butter” slides 3-4, after five weeks on top.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” pushes 6-5 in its second week on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, sparked by its 3% gain to 43.6 million streams outside the U.S. The Kid LAROI, from Australia, achieves his first top five Global Excl. U.S. hit and Bieber (Canada) adds his fourth.
