Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino Sings the National Anthem at a Dodgers Game

Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino Sings the National Anthem at a Dodgers Game

Last night (July 26), the Los Angeles Dodgers played the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium, and, before the game began, famed Angeleno Bethany Cosentino sang the national anthem. The Best Coast songwriter announced the performance earlier this month on her official social channels, where she posted a baseball card–like image of her batting in a Dodgers uniform. Watch Cosentino sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” below. (The Dodgers lost the game 8-3.)

“Let’s play ball babes ⚾️🧢!!! ever wanted to see me belt it out at a freaking @dodgers game!? well now you can,” she wrote. “I’m hyperventilating a bit omg. it’s time for dodger baseball!!!” In a later post, Cosentino called the occasion “a little baseball girl’s dreams come true.”

Best Coast’s latest album, Always Tomorrow, was released in February 2020. The album included the singles “For the First Time,” “Everything Has Changed,” and “Different Light.” Later that year, the band held a livestream performance celebrating the 10th anniversary of their landmark debut album Crazy for You.
