Faced with the dilemmas of his fresh start, Hunter declares he will never to go back to the game that cost him his freedom. Kanye West Being Sued for Unchristian Treatment of Christian Opera Workers

Kanye West is facing two different class-action lawsuits over the alleged poor treatment of workers on his Christian opera Nebuchadnezzar, as Vice reports. Because while Jesus said, “Sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.” Yeezus said misclassify your employees as independent contractors, deny them overtime, and keep them waiting months for checks, and you will be a billionaire on Earth. The ill-fated performance of Nebuchadnezzar took place on November 24th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. It came on the heels of his execrable album Jesus Is King, and was announced only a week before it bowed. The mess began long before curtain — West put the wrong emperor on his invitations — and afterwards it was panned by critics. The show, such...

Before the performance began, Megan Thee Stallion joined the host for a brief interview about rapping as a child, her love of horror movies like Evil Dead, and her recent Grammy nominations, the latter of which took her by surprise far more than it did her relatives. “Literally every time something happened to me, I was always in shock. Like who, me? Megan?” the rapper laughs. “Then I called my grandma like, ‘Grandma, guess what! I got nominated for like four Grammys!’ and she was like, ‘Well, ...

First Out: New Music From Troye Sivan, K.Flay, Channel Tres & More

Troye Sivan, “Easy (with Kacey Musgraves feat. Mark Ronson)” It’s not often that a remix fundamentally improves on an original — but on Troye Sivan’s new remix of his track “Easy,” featuring none other than country-pop superstar Kacey Musgraves and pop auteur Mark Ronson, that is exactly the case. The new, dizzying synth sound pairs perfectly with Musgraves’ new verse, as the two imbue the song with an even deeper “crying on the dancefloor” feel than the original. Add onto that the mullet-filled, Nashville-based music video, and you’ve got a sure-fire winner on your hands. K.Flay, Don’t Judge a Song By Its Cover No one necessarily asked for a cover of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” or The Offspring...

NiziU’s Debut Single Tops Japan Hot 100

The nine-member group’s pre-debut track, “Make you happy,” became a long-running top 10 hit that continues to hold at No. 9 this week, but the track peaked at No. 2 on the Japan Hot 100, so “Step and a step” becomes NiziU’s first No. 1 hit. While LiSA’s “Homura” ducks to No. 2 for the second time, the emotional rock ballad continues to maintain momentum, leading downloads for the eighth week, streaming for the seventh, and karaoke for the third, all consecutively. The single adds 11,774 copies to its ever-growing total, sailing past the 200k mark this week (209,410 copies). King Gnu’s latest release, “Sanmon Shosetsu” (“Pulp Fiction”), jumps 14-4 on the Japan Hot 100. The popular four-man mixture band’s first new single in a while comes in at No. 2 for sales (55,209 copies) and look-ups (t...

Music Collective xpxp Talks Latest Single ‘Dump Your Boyfriend feat. PAU’ & Looks Back on Music Trends of 2020

How did xpxp come about? Ryo Ito: A year ago or so I started thinking that people like me — people working amongst the creatives in the music industry — need to make music themselves. We make tracks and do sound production for artists, but there are other things we also want to do. I think it’s gotten easier to do that, and to show off what we come up with. Although there are still few opportunities for creators to share their creations, I don’t think that should hold us back. xpxp is something born from my desire to help open that door for other creators in Japan. Where did the idea of “girl crush” come from? her0ism: The theme “girl crush” was fueled by that feeling of a woman liking another woman beyond mere adoration. When you’re trying to make a track with a strong c...

Vicky Cornell Opens Up About Chris Cornell’s New Covers Album

When Chris Cornell died in 2017, fans all over the world mourned the loss of a voice and talent gone way too soon. That outpouring of love and continued support helped the family he left behind — wife Vicky Cornell and children Toni and Christopher — who are emotional but proud to keep the memory of her husband and their dad alive via No One Sings Like You Anymore. Cornell’s first full posthumous release is a 10-song gem that takes on hits and lesser-known songs from artists still with us, along with long-lost legends. While Cornell’s version of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience” and Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 You” are well-known to fans, stellar new covers included on the album are Lorraine Ellison’s powerhouse “Stay with Me Baby” and the Janis Joplin-popularized “Get It While You Can,...

Singer FKA Twigs [born Tahliah Debrett Barnett] is suing her ex-boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf, accusing the Transformers star of “relentless” abuse, including sexual battery, assault, emotional distress and that he “knowingly” giving her a sexually transmitted disease during their relationship, which spanned nearly a year between 2018 and 2019. According to the New York Times, the suit was filed in Los Angeles County on Friday. The Times also details several incidents, including one in 2019 where LaBeouf threatened to crash the car they were driving in if Twigs didn’t tell him she loved him. After Twigs begged to be let out of the car, LaBeouf pulled over at a gas station where he then, according to The Times, threw her bags out of the car’s trunk an...

Trump Supporter Lil Wayne Sold His Masters In June For Over $100M?

Source: Supplied by WENN.com / WENN Lil Wayne is getting sued for a cool $20 million, at least, by one of his ex-managers. But the interesting caveat is that Tunechi allegedly sold his masters to the Universal Music Group for over $100M. That’s kind of a big deal, and it sounds like a steal. According to TMZ, the Trump-supporting rapper stiffed Ronald Sweeney out of money he was due after helping Tunechi renegotiate his deal with Cash Money Records. Reportedly, Sweeney was hired back in 2005 and helped sort out the drama between Lil Wayne, Cash Money and the rapper’s Young Money label back in 2018, but he claims he never got all the money he was due. And this is when the tea gets scorching. Per Sweeney, in 2018 Wayne asked him to fire his longtime manager and childhood buddy Cortez Bryant,...
