Watch Pro-Shot Video Of PHILIP ANSELMO’s EN MINOR Performing At New Orleans’s Orpheum Theater

EN MINOR, the “depression core” project of Philip Anselmo (PANTERA, DOWN), took part in a special livestream on November 25. The eight-camera, cinematic experience, which can be seen below, found the ensemble performing at the historic Orpheum Theater in New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1918, and opened for Vaudeville in 1921, the magnificent Beaux-Arts-style building went on to host silent movies, “talkies,” live music, and much more. The auditorium is currently the home of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and is prized for its acoustical purity. The theater is an example of “vertical hall” construction, initially built to provide perfect sight lines and acoustics for Vaudeville shows which didn’t have the benefit of amplifiers or modern light...

Justin Townes Earle Estate Reveals Cause of Death

Justin Townes Earle died in August at the age of 38. A few days after his death, a Metro Nashville Police Department spokesperson told SPIN that the cause of death was “likely related to a drug overdose.” In a statement shared on Townes Earle’s social media accounts, his estate confirmed that the singer-songwriter died from an overdose. “Even though Justin was very outspoken and concerned about the opioid epidemic and the dangers of the ‘legal’ drugs fed by the pharmaceutical companies, he became the victim of a deadly dose of fentanyl,” the statement said. “Illicit drugs laced with fentanyl are causing an enormous rise in overdoses, turning cocaine usage into an even deadlier habit. It only takes a few salt sized granules of fentanyl to cause an overdose. And in most cases, happ...

Steph Curry Officially Has His Own Brand Under The Under Armour Umbrella

Source: Curry Brand / Under Armour Years ago Stephen Curry caught much criticism for signing with Under Armour over other more popular sneaker brands and though that slander was only exacerbated with the release of his “orthopedic” Curry 2’s, the NBA’s deadliest shooter is currently enjoying the last laugh. According to Nice Kicks, UA and Steph Curry have officially reached a deal that will bless the future Hall of Famer with his own subsidiary brand under the Under Armour umbrella dubbed, Curry Brand. Not bad for an NBA superstar who basically helped Under Armour’s popularity skyrocket over the past few years (no shots to it’s other sports stars). The Curry Brand and Under Armour relationship will mirror the same business model as that of Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand under Nike. The Cu...

Ice-T Reveals His “No Masker” Father-In-Law’s Scary Bout With COVID-19 Has Now Made Him A Believer

Source: Dia Dipasupil / Getty COVID-19 is very real, but unfortunately, some people still think this virus is a hoax, and Ice-T has revealed that his father-in-law was one of them, but now is a believer. The Law & Order SVU star was very open about his wife Coco’s father, Steve Austin’s scary battle with COVID-19 that nearly took his life. As COVID-19 cases surge across the country at an alarming rate, Ice-T decided to use his father-in-law’s bout with the virus as a cautionary tale revealing that he was a “no-masker” who has now seen the light after nearly losing his life. On Twitter, Ice-T shared a photo of his father-in-law during his 40-day stay in the ICU wearing an oxygen mask with the caption: “My father-in-law ‘Coco’s dad’ was a serious ‘No Masker’ COVID hit him. Pneumonia in b...

On Brand: Drake Is Really Selling Drake-Scented Candles

Source: PYMCA / Getty Is there any artist more self-aware than Drake? The 6 God is now selling “Drake-scented” candles, and it couldn’t be more on brand. The Toronto rapper has never been one to try to pose too tough beyond his bars, and the constant singing and melancholy tunes has shown he has no problem embracing his emo-side. That’s a side stereotypically attuned to images of bubble baths and candles, so it only makes sense that the “Marvin’s Room” rapper is now officially in the candle game. As first reported by InStyle, a brand called Better World Fragrance House has not so quietly revealed it is launching five “ultra lux candles.” You may remember that Drake gifted the then-new NBA champion Toronto Raptors’ players with candles that had personal messages on them, which in hindsight ...

Instead, the punk-rock veterans will mark the milestone with a four-part streaming performance series dubbed “Decades”. “Decades” will be divided into four episodes, one for each decade of the band’s existence: “The ’80s”, “The ’90s, “The ’00s”, “The ’10s”. Viagra Boys Release New Song “Creatures”: Stream

Viagra Boys are back with another new post-punk banger called “Creatures”. It’s the second offering from their forthcoming sophomore record Welfare Jazz, and it comes paired with an amazing music video. Back in October, the Swedish group kicked off their album cycle with the asshole anthem “Ain’t Nice”, which was a cheeky tune about proudly being a dumpy mooch with no manners. It was the sort of crude scumbaggery that you might expect from a band called Viagra Boys, but “Creatures” takes a more nuanced look at the life of a seedy miscreant. The synth-based track is a commentary on the absurdism of the class disparity that compares the lifestyle vocalist Sebastian Murphy groaned about on “Ain’t Nice” to that of the ocean’s bottom feeders. “We are the creatures that steal your copper/ We don...

Beabadoobee and Arlo Parks Release Christmas Covers: Stream

Beabadoobee and Arlo Parks are getting into the holiday spirit. The UK bedroom pop musicians have each contributed festive covers to Apple Music’s Christmas singles series. For her contribution, our former Artist of the Month Bea Kristi (aka Beabadoobee) performed a rendition of the yuletide classic “Winter Wonderland”. Although you might expect either ukulele strums or gnarled jazzmaster riffs from the Fake It Flowers star, the 20-year-old actually tries her hand at singing wistfully over ornate strings, resulting in a surprisingly classy take on the snowy staple. Arlo Parks, on the other hand, puts a completely new spin on the incredibly ’80s Wham! hit “Last Christmas”. Rather than leaning into the track’s kinetic energy and creating something you can jump around to next to the...
