Dead Rhetoric: What was it like to write an album without [founding guitarist] Niklas [Sundin]? Mikael: “It was strange. There was an absence on ‘Atoma’ as well, as that was when he began to focus on where he needed to be, and it was a struggle to get the album done because of that. AC/DC Drop ‘Realize’ From Upcoming Album
AC/DC’s new album, POWER UP, is out this Friday. Giving fans one last taste before the real thing is released, the band shared “Realize,” another muscular rocker. In three-and-a-half minutes, it sounds like, well, AC/DC. Haim Bring Rock to The Croods: A New Age With ‘Feel the Thunder’
Haim have been known to churn out some great pop-rock music, as evidenced via their latest LP, Women in Music Pt. III. But when they were asked to contribute a song to the children’s movie The Croods: A New Age, Haim moved into a harder direction. Working with producer/co-writer and Guns N’ Roses superfan Ariel Rechtshaid, they were able to experiment with their sound and turn around a song inspired by the legendary rockers. This week brought news that Pfizer is well on its way to developing an effective vaccine for coronavirus, which could be available to the general public by next spring or summer. At that point, live music and other entertainment industries involving mass gatherings will *finally* begin to ramp back up. Even so, Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation plan to be extra cautious by requiring attendees of its events to either prove they’ve been vaccinated or tested negative for COVID-19 prior to entry. Here’s how it would work, if approved: After purchasing a ticket for a concert, fans would need to verify that they have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert.
