ELLEFSON, the solo band of MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson, took part in the “End Of Days” festival in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, October 30. All attendees were required to wear face masks to enter the Sunset Station venue and social distancing was “encouraged” at the event, according to a poster advertising the festival. Anthem Entertainment Television, which organized “End Of Days”, said it would “follow city COVID policies” regarding gatherings in public places. “End Of Days” also hit Brown’s Village Plaza in Slidell, Louisiana on Saturday (October 31) and is scheduled to make its final stop tonight (Sunday, November 3) at Barge 295 in Seabrook, Texas. Setting the Stage: The reunion of Mr. Bungle has been a journey for both the band and its fans. In what feels like another lifetime, founding members Mike Patton, Trey Spruance, and Trevor Dunn revived Mr. Bungle for a reunion tour in early 2020… with a catch: The band would only be playing material from its 1986 thrash metal demo The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny and hardcore cover songs from the era. Furthermore, they tabbed ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian to help execute the demo’s blazing tempos and thrash theatrics. The quasi-supergroup went on a brief tour and then entered the studio to record a new version of the demo. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm was full of villains, but babysitter Jeanise Jones emerged as a clear hero. Her sympathetic handling of Borat’s “daughter” (actress Maria Bakalova) earned her the adoration of fans but only $3,600 in payment. Those same fans responded by raising over $170,000 on her behalf, and now Borat himself Sacha Baron Cohen donated an additional $100,000 to Jones’ church. As The Los Angeles Times notes, the donation to the Ebenezer Baptist Church was initially made anonymously in Jones’ name. But the size made it conspicuous, and the Times has confirmed Cohen as the source.
