Rihanna has announced the second annual Savage X Fenty lingerie fashion show. According to a new trailer, the event will stream through Amazon Prime on October 2nd and feature performances headlined by Travis Scott and Rosalía. Founded in 2018, Rihanna envisioned Savage X Fenty as a more inclusive underwear brand, with a wide-range of fabric colors to complement all skin tones and an expanded range of sizes. The first show took place last September during New York Fashion Week, and saw appearances by Migos and Halsey, among others. This year’s lineup is even more star-studded, as in addition to Scott and Rosalía, Savage X Fenty Vol. 2 will see performances from Miguel, Bad Bunny, Mustard, Roddy Rich, and Ella Mai. That would be one hell of a concert, but of course the purpose of this event...
Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY have released the official lyric video for their new song “Ringin’ In My Head”. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming seventh studio album, “The Human Condition”, which is due on October 30 via Mascot Label Group. The collection will be available in digital, deluxe CD and vinyl formats, with an array of music and merch bundle options and a U.K.-exclusive purple vinyl, which you can pre-order now at this location. BLACK STONE CHERRY states: “‘Ringin’ In My Head’ was a song we had originally started to write back in 2017, and for whatever reason, it didn’t make the album at the time, but we loved the riff and melody. Fast forward to 2020, we were in the studio recording ‘The Huma...

Phil Lewis has slammed drummer Steve Riley‘s lineup of L.A. GUNS, saying “we can’t have another shitty version going out diluting the brand.” This past January, Riley was sued by Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns and Lewis in California District Court. Joining Riley as defendants in the case are the three musicians who perform in his recently launched rival version of L.A. GUNS; that group’s manager, booking agent and merchandiser; and Golden Robot Records. The complaint, which requests a trial by jury, alleges that Riley‘s version of L.A. GUNS (referred to in the case docket as “the infringing L.A. GUNS“) is creating “unfair competition” through its unauthorized usage of the L.A. GUNS trademark. In addition, Guns and Lewis are seek...
JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford, who celebrated the 34th anniversary of his getting sober this past January, spoke to U.K.’s GQ magazine about how his life has changed in the decades since he kicked the bottle. “I have a clarity now on everything, especially when it comes to my work,” he said. “I’m able to perceive my music more clearly, with a lot less clutter and that’s important as a musician, particularly for me, particularly because I love what I do and I love JUDAS PRIEST so much. I like to feel that being clean and sober has made me able to do my work much more efficiently; I look back on some of my lyrics and they are a touchstone. If you look at the lyrics on ‘Nostradamus’, they are some of the best I’ve ever written. I’...
Dave Grohl has a confession to make: at the end of Foo Fighters’ lengthy tours, he feels like calling it quits. Worried? Don’t be. Grohl admitted to AC/DC singer Brian Johnson that “it’s kind of a running joke.” In a new Sky Arts documentary, appropriately titled Brian Johnson Meets Dave Grohl that airs tonight (Sept. 17), NME reports that the longtime touring legends shared stories of life on the road, with the former Nirvana drummer saying, “I’ve been on the road for a year and a half, I come home from tour and say, ‘I’m never doing that again. That’s it. That’s the last time. Never ever again. I’m going to take two years off’”, he said. “And all my friends look at me and say, ‘Bullshit. There’s no way.’” According to Sky Media, the rock legends film the seg...
L7’s 30th-anniversary reissue of Smell the Magic is out tomorrow on Sub Pop. Singer/guitarist Donita Sparks performed new live vocals on her group’s 1990 song “Fast and Frightening,” and there’s a new video for the song where Sparks appears “alongside” Los Angeles’ Lucha VaVOOM dancers. As Sparks rocks guitar and vocals, the mask-clad dancers shimmy to the rollicking tune in front of legendary L.A. locations including the Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood sign. Sparks recorded the new vocals during a feisty performance of “Fast and Frightening” as part of radio station KCRW’s Summer Series, 2020. Check out the raucous mayhem below. Complex Networks has named a new editor-in-chief to oversee its news and video operations: Maurice Peebles, who will take over the job beginning Oct. 5. Peebles, who most recently was digital editor-in-chief at SportsNet New York for two years, replaces Damien Scott, who left Complex in April, according to the company. Peebles is returning to the company where he started as a digital intern in 2006, and eventually became the deputy editor of its sports vertical for two years. He also spent time working at Bleacher Report, Barstool Sports and The Ladders. “We are excited for Maurice to rejoin Complex at such a pivotal and culture-shifting time not only for our company but also for media in general,” Complex general manager Donnie Kwak, to whom Peebles will report, said in a stat...
The composer and bandleader — a Grammy favorite and a fierce advocate for artists’ rights — takes on the ‘Data Lords’ with her newest album. When Maria Schneider sits down to write music, it is seldom with a specific idea in her head. Lately, though, the celebrated orchestral jazz composer and bandleader — a five-time Grammy winner and a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master — has had a lot on her mind. “Early on, I became very aware that big data companies were using musicians as carrots so that they could gather data from users,” says Schneider, 59. “And this has been a huge frustration for me. It has really destroyed the music industry for those that make the music, and now I feel that for our society at large it’s a catastrophic loss.” That frustration fueled the idea...
Hip-hop lost three of its brightest voices in the past year — but thanks to recent posthumous albums, their presence could still be felt on Grammy night. One of the most moving moments of February’s Grammy ceremony came during the pretelecast, when best rap performance was awarded to “Racks in the Middle,” led by the late Nipsey Hussle, who had been killed in a March 2019 shooting. The award was accepted by his family, including his grandmother Margaret Boutte. Wearing sunglasses, she thanked those in attendance for “showing all the love that I have felt for [Nipsey] all of his life.” Powerful moments like that could well take center stage on the main telecast at the next ceremony. Over the past few years, a number of hip-hop’s leading artists have died — many of whom still had recorded mu...
