These Bluetooth-Enabled Shoes Transform Your Music Into Bone-Rattling Bass Under Your Feet

Contemplating whether or not to buy shoes that let you listen to beats with your feet may not have been a conundrum on music fans’ 2020 bingo card, but here we are. Thanks to DropLabs‘ new EP 01 shoes, an entirely new way of experiencing music is afoot. In something plucked out of a Black Mirror episode, the EP 01s connect to your music via Bluetooth to provide a thumping sound system under your feet, redefining the term “surround sound.” The phrase “sound system” is not an exaggeration since the shoes double as a legitimately powerful conduit of sound, able to be adjusted and amplified. Complete with tech specs, the sleek sneakers are controlled via the DropLabs mobile app, which acts as a controller to manipulate the numerous E...

Steve Aoki and KREAM Drop Stunning Visuals for House Single “L I E S”

Earlier this month Steve Aoki partnered with Norwegian brother and production duo KREAM to deliver the ultimate deep house single, “L I E S.” If nightclubs were still open, this would be the surefire tune on circulation, but instead, it is the perfect anthem to close out your summer with. The irresistible track has now received a stunning music video to accompany it, and it does not disappoint.  Directed by Ask Sunde, the visuals are an artistic display of lyrics, lasers, and the smashed faces of the three artists. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Steve Aoki video if his famous cake wasn’t on display, and here they showcase it in an aesthetic white and green melting form, symbolizing how lies spread and take over. The production for this track is also top-notch, wit...

SEPULTURA Releases Music Video For ‘Guardians Of Earth’

Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA have released a music video for their song “Guardians Of Earth”. The track is taken from the band’s latest album, “Quadra”, which was made available in February via Nuclear Blast Records. It is a concept effort created at Sweden’s Fascination Street Studios with renowned producer Jens Bogren. SEPULTURA comprises vocalist Derrick Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., and drummer Eloy Casagrande. Kisser previously stated about working with Bogren on “Quadra”: “He is so full of passion, it’s unbelievable, man. He’s really there, he really cares about the projects he’s doing. For SEPULTURA, he’s like the fifth member of the band. The chemistry was so am...

SYSTEM OF A DOWN’s JOHN DOLMAYAN Wants To ‘Present An Opposing Viewpoint’ For Fans Who Don’t Agree With SERJ TANKIAN

John Dolmayan says that he tries to “present an opposing viewpoint” for SYSTEM OF A DOWN fans “who aren’t necessarily ideologically in line” with the views of the band’s lead singer, Serj Tankian. The drummer, who has praised Donald Trump in recent months and has accused Democrats of “demonizing” the president and “blaming him for everything under the sun,” made the comment on Tuesday (September 15) after first sharing a popular libertarian meme with the text: “Did you know? That it’s entirely possible to disagree with BOTH liberals and conservatives? It’s called thinking for yourself and we highly recommend it.” A short time later, one of Dolmayan‘s Instagram followers asked the musician: “Then...

COREY TAYLOR On Modern Political Discourse: ‘People On Both Sides Are Absolutely Exhausted By The Energy Of The Other’

In a new interview with Forbes, SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor was asked if he finds modern political discourse to be completely hypocritical and tiring. He responded: “The problem is that people on both sides are absolutely exhausted by the energy of the other. It’s not just the right, the left is just as fucking crazy and dumbass. It is absolutely fucking exhausting listening to these people try and control shit. If they’re not trying to control the way you act or think, they’re trying to control the way you fucking talk, they’re trying to control the things that you should be offended by. “Look, there’s a very clear list of things that you should be offended by: anything racist or anything that has to do with trying to kill people...

CLUTCH Is Slowly Working On New Music: ‘We Are Not Living In Very Inspiring Times,’ Says JEAN-PAUL GASTER

CLUTCH drummer Jean-Paul Gaster has confirmed to the “Cobras & Fire” podcast that he and his bandmates have slowly commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2018’s “Book Of Bad Decisions” album. “On paper, you would think that this would be a creative time for artists, and maybe there are artists out there who are doing some of their best work ever right now, writing their best songs,” he said (hear audio below). “I can tell you, for us, we’ve concentrated mostly on trying to figure out how to stream shows and figure out that technology. And while we have started to write, we are not living in very inspiring times. So it’s difficult to get those wheels turning. Not only that, but also knowing that once we have thi...

Tenille Townes Reminds Us of ‘Somebody’s Daughter’ at the 2020 ACM Awards

From the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenille Townes played a moving “Somebody’s Daughter” for the 2020 ACM Awards. Following his performance from the Bluebird Cafe, Luke Combs introduced Townes, who also won new female artist of the year at the ceremony. “I’m humbled to receive this honor from the academy,” Townes said. “I’m so thrilled to be here playing a song that was inspired by a young girl standing on the side of the interstate, holding onto a cardboard sign. It’s a reminder that we’ve all got a story and I think especially in these times, we really need each other.” Alone with her guitar, Townes then went into an emotional performance of her song. Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, ...

Dan + Shay’s ‘I Should Probably Go To Bed’ was a Stripped-Down Highlight of the 2020 ACM Awards

Dan + Shay released “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” a song ripe for arena sing-alongs, earlier in 2020… a year in which arena shows have been necessarily scarce. Fortunately, the duo rocked out to the anthem at the 2020 ACM Awards on Wednesday night (Sept. 16). The duo took the Grand Ole Opry stage under a shared spotlight, with Shay Mooney seated at a grand piano and Dan Smyers gripping a mic stand. With no other accompanying musicians, the duo showcased their well-worn harmonic skills, making a stripped-down performance sound mighty enough to fill the historic venue. “I Should Probably Go To Bed” has thus far been Dan + Shay’s lone release of 2020, after notching a top 10 smash, “10,000 Hours,” alongside Justin Bieber in late 2019. Their latest single has peaked at No. 8 on the Hot ...

Kane Brown Offers a Moving Performance of ‘Worldwide Beautiful’ at 2020 ACM Awards

Kane Brown performed his powerful “Worldwide Beautiful” single at the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday night (Sept. 16). “I just want everybody to love everybody,” Kane lead off his performance by proclaiming. “And this is a song I wrote for it.” He then gave an emotional performance of the sung-rapped ballad about racial tolerance, playing just as much to the camera as to the COVID-vacated Grande Ole Opry venue — which saw backing singers appear in the upper levels as the song reached its climax. Brown has no nominations at the 2020 awards, but he was nominated for single of the year at the 2019 ACM Awards for his “Heaven” hit single, losing to Dan + Shay’s “Tequila.” “Worldwide Beautiful”...

Over the past decade or so, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have become two of the most sought after composers in Hollywood. Family of Breonna Taylor Settle Wrongful Death Lawsuit For $12 Million

Source: Jon Cherry / Getty The family of Breonna Taylor may still be waiting to see justice served regarding the criminal charges pending against the three officers involved. However, they have reached a settlement in the wrongful death civil suit filed against the city of Louisville. According to CNN, the family of Taylor and the city reached a $12 million settlement in the wrongful death case six months after the 26-year old EMT was murdered in her home while she slept. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced the settlement later Tuesday in a joint press conference with the Taylor family’s attorneys telling Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, that the city “deeply apologizes” for the reckless act that took her daughter’s life. “I cannot begin to imagine Ms. Palmer’s pain, and I am deeply, de...
