TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon recently answered a number of fan-submitted questions during an appearance in the WRIF Virtual Rock Room. Asked if TESLA will ever work with former guitarist Tommy Skeoch again, Hannon said (see video below): “I have to tell you, I love Tommy Skeoch. I just did an online masterclass — the Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp — and I broke down ‘Modern Day Cowboy’ and how Tommy and myself collaborated and worked on that music together. “When we were kids, Tommy Skeoch and myself, I was 16 and he was about 19 or 20,” he continued. “I used to really look up to him — I was a huge fan of his style, and still am, a great fan of his guitar playing. We were like best buds. And then we would collaborate and write songs like ‘M...

Lady Gaga is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, and she hates it. During a recent interview with CBS News, the singer opened up about mental health and struggles with fame, admitting that her alter ego was her worst enemy before she released Chromatica in June. “I just totally gave up on myself,” she said of that particular time. “I hated being famous. I hated being a star. I felt exhausted and used up.” Pointing at a piano behind her in the studio, Gaga continued: “I went from looking at this piano, and thinking, You ruined my life. During that time, I was like, ‘You made me Lady Gaga. My biggest enemy is Lady Gaga.’ That’s what I was thinking: ‘My biggest enemy is her. What did you do?’” She went on to describe experiencing “full body pain” during encoun...

Donald Trump has signed off on an 11th hour deal allowing Oracle and Walmart to purchase a stake in TikTok, allowing the popular video sharing platform to avoid a ban in the U.S. previously set for Sunday. As part of the deal, the U.S. software company Oracle is partnering with Walmart to form a new entity called TikTok Global, which will be headquartered in the United States. Oracle will host all of TikTok’s U.S. user data and will safeguard TikTok’s computer systems “to ensure U.S. national security requirements are fully satisfied,” TikTok said in a statement (via NPR). However, the deal fall short of previous demands made by the Trump Administration. The Chinese-owned ByteDance will maintain an 80% stake in TikTok as well as control over its algorithm. Additionally, ByteDance has dispu...
During the fourth and final night of the Creative Emmy Awards on Saturday, Dave Chappelle captured the prize for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). Despite being one of the most accomplished comedians of all time, Chappelle felt particularly vindicated by the award, as it came in honor of his divisive 2019 Netflix special Sticks & Stones. Upon the special’s release last summer, Chappelle was met with immense backlash over jokes he made about Michael Jackson and R Kelly’s alleged sexual abuse victims and the LGBTQ+ community. While Chapelle has long been known to push the envelope, the consensus among many critics was that the material featured in Sticks & Stones was stale and tone-death. “Edgy, but empty, Sticks & Stones might not break any bones, but it won’...
A few days ago, Bob Dylan announced the return of his Sirius XM show Theme Time Radio, and now we’re getting a preview of its first episode in 11 years through three audio snippets. In the first, Dylan welcomes fans back after a decade-plus hiatus. “Hello friends and welcome back to Theme Time Radio Hour. I’m your host, Bob Dylan. To paraphrase Alexandre Dumas in The Count of Monte Cristo, I’m so delighted to see you again, it makes me forget for the moment that all happiness is fleeting,” he says before admitting his newly launched whiskey brand, Heaven’s Door, is the catalyst for the show’s return. “Now I’m not gonna pull your coat too much about it, ’cause me telling you how good it is is like tickling yourself. It just doesn’t work. You just have to taste it, a...
Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Lil Baby is in the midst of some family drama. The Atlanta rapper and his baby mama, Ayesha Howard, are arguing about child support in court, and he’s seeking primary custody. The former couple shares a 5-year-old son, Jason. But now their back and forth is getting extra bitter, and it seems to be coming down to her wanting a lot more money, and Lil Baby thinking he’s already been providing plenty. Reports TMZ: Here’s what’s up — the rapper has been going back and forth with Ayesha Howard for weeks after she accused him of failing to pay for their son Jason‘s schooling, which she says resulted in the boy being kicked out. Ayesha then filed legal docs — obtained by TMZ — seeking a declaration of paternity and child support from Lil Baby, claiming...
Source: CLRD Ent. / Heads Music Audio Push was a rap duo, made up of Oktane and Price, that had solid success riding the jerk dance wave (and proved to be dope MC’s) in the early 2010’s. But in 2020, the latter has gone solo, and just dropped a new video called “Mufasa.” Sporting a still nimble flow, Price drops bars about perseverance, legacy and Black excellence over a sublime groove. “I done spent my whole life on the search of freedom, everything the light touches you know that’s our kingdom,” goes the tune’s refrain. Also worth noting, Price has partnered his own CLRD Ent. with Madeline Nelson’s all-woman owned and operated music distribution company Heads Music. “It feels good to know that my music and my art is in the hands of a legendary Black female music executive such ...

‘SNL’ has now won 83 Emmys, more than any other series in TV history. Forty years after he burst to stardom on Saturday Night Live, Eddie Murphy won his first Emmy Award on Saturday (Sept. 19) for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his return to the show. For such a major star, Murphy has a surprisingly spare awards cabinet. He has won one Grammy (for Eddie Murphy: Comedian, 1983). He was nominated for an Oscar for Dreamgirls (2006), but did not win. Maya Rudolph won outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for her appearance on that same Murphy-hosted episode of SNL in which she played Senator (and now VP nominee) Kamala Harris. Rudolph also won a second Emmy this year for outstanding character voice-over performance for Netflix’s Big Mouth. These are her first...
