Madonna is paying her respects to late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The 62-year-old pop superstar took to Instagram on Saturday (Sept. 19) to recognize Ginsburg as a “fearless human” who “did more for women and this country than most people know.” Ginsburg, who died Friday from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer, was the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and a pioneering advocate for women’s rights. She was 87. With less than two months until the general election on Nov. 3, Ginsburg’s vacancy on the Supreme Court allows President Donald Trump the opportunity to solidify the conservative majority on the court. In her post, Madonna expressed hope that Ginsburg’s replacement would arrive after the election. “She...

Life Is Beautiful Announces 2021 Return and Dates

Back in April, fans were disappointed to hear that Life Is Beautiful would be canceling their 2020 outing due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Like many other festivals around the world, the organizers are optimistically looking at 2021 for the return of the Vegas party. Instead of changing seasons like some in the past have, Life is Beautiful will stick to their September schedule and simply be pushed back one year. Announced just one day before the 2020 edition was supposed to take place, organizers informed fans about the beloved festival’s return across their social media accounts. There’s no word on who will take the stage a year from now, but previous years have featured performances from Zedd, Louis The Child, ODESZA, Kaskade, NERVO, DJ Snake, RL Grime, and ma...

Lil Tecca Releases Skrillex and DJ Scheme-Produced Track “Selection”

Earlier in the week, Skrillex posted a photo of himself working with Lil Tecca. The latter would then go on to announce the tracklist for his debut album VIRGO WORLD, which included what is assumed to be the product of the photographed recording session.  Luckily, fans did not have to wait very long as the album with the Skrillex and DJ Scheme-produced track was released on Friday. Alongside the new tune, Lil Tecca dropped a lyric visualizer video to accompany his new sounds. Titled “Selection,” the short-but-sweet single sees Skrillex and DJ Scheme blend their unique production talents for the 18-year-old hip-hop star. While it’s not as electronic-forward as some of Skrillex’s other hip-hop production credits, the precise beat accompanies the vocals well,...

League of Legends Debuts “Worlds” 2020 Theme Featuring Jeremy McKinnon of A Day to Remember

Every year, the international video game behemoth League of Legends releases an anthem in honor of its annual World Championship, referred to in shorthand as “Worlds.” The game’s developer, Riot Games, has an in-house music team that actually creates each anthem and chooses the star collaborators to be featured on the yearly singles. In the past, the team recruited the help of Zedd, The Glitch Mob, and Imagine Dragons, among others. While each iteration has a slightly different theme, the anthems are all decidedly epic, channeling the immense magnitude of the international esports event.  The “Worlds” 2020 theme is no exception to this rule, as Riot Games recruited three high-profile collaborators to bring the story of the tournam...

Go Behind the Scenes of Kygo and Donna Summer’s New “Hot Stuff” Music Video

On Friday, September 18th, Kygo released the latest in his line of tribute remixes. This time, the Norwegian producer took on Donna Summer‘s 1979 classic, “Hot Stuff.” Alongside the reimagination, he also released a music video featuring the stars of Netflix‘s Outer Banks, Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes.  Filmed in North Carolina over the summer, the production company behind the video, Lighthouse Films, captured the spirit of decades past to help set the background for the single. Before, during, and after the release of the music video, they shared behind-the-scenes footage of the filmmaking process. It’s interesting to note how Lighthouse transformed the modern-day setting into a nostalgic paradise using props and lighting effects. Also notab...

ACE FREHLEY Says His First Solo Album Made Him Realize He Was More Creative Away From KISS Than With The Band

In a new interview with Australia’s Heavy, former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley was asked to name the defining album of his career. He responded (hear audio below): “Probably my first solo album, with ‘New York Groove’. That was my biggest hit, and I think it was the biggest surprise to all the KISS fans that my album did the best. Considering I wasn’t the main lead vocalist or the frontman of the band, I think people maybe thought Paul‘s [Stanley] or Gene‘s [Simmons] album was gonna be number one and number two, but my album actually surpassed all of ’em in sales and popularity. So I think that was a very defining album for me. Plus, it also made me realize I was more creative away from those guys than with them. Me and Eddie Kramer pretty much...

DEVIN TOWNSEND On Life During COVID-19: ‘It’s Okay To Be Depressed And Despondent Every Now And Then’

Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend spoke to Metal Blast about how he is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. He said (see video below): “I am a hybrid of a lot of things. I am well aware of the chaos and the anxiety that it has brought to my life, being surrounded by people who are vulnerable, older. I have kids. Having to pivot work, the uncertainty of it all, the political and social discourse that’s so toxic, all these things result in a mindset that I could excuse myself for feeling like all is lost. However, I don’t feel that way. I feel incredibly grateful for things that I maybe have taken for granted in the past. And that has also extended to the audience. I’m so grateful for this career that I have that I’ve gone as far as I can...
