When Duke Dumont dropped the curtain on his Duality LP back in April, there is no doubt he knew he had a hit on his hands. Following a litany of wildly popular releases that essentially moonlighted as quick bites in anticipation of the record, he unveiled his debut album and stunned the dance music community with a bona fide Grammy frontrunner. Dumont has now released the official music video for “Nightcrawler,” the lead single from Duality. A sultry deep house collaboration with Australian twin sister duo Say Lou Lou, the track serves as a microcosm of the trailblazing sound design of one of the genre’s most refined producers. Produced by Obra House—a studio perhaps best known for developing the videos for Lil Nas X‘s “Panini” and Me...

Longtime BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas says that the band’s music became “too safe” in the years before his departure. In December 2017, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE announced that it was officially parting ways with Thomas and replacing him with Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND). Bowld had toured with the group since November 2015, filling in for Thomas, who had taken a leave of absence as he and his wife were expecting their first child. In a brand new interview with Australia’s Wall Of Sound, Thomas spoke about his exit from BULLET FROM MY VALENTINE, saying that he no longer felt inspired by the music the band was writing. “BULLET got very stale,” he said. “After the third album, we were trying to get a bit of ...
In a new interview with FM99 WNOR, HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell said that it was extremely difficult for him and his bandmates to complete the group’s latest album, “Welcome Home”, following the passing of their drummer, Vinnie Paul Abbott. “It was tough,” he said (see video below). “We literally had to suck it up and get in there and just play for him and play for each other and play for the record and play for the fans. They were gonna wanna hear this. We were obligated — it was unwritten. It was something we had to do. And it was tough.” He continued: “We’re still devastated about it. It’s not something that we can ever recover from, I don’t think. I think about the future, and, to be honest with you, I don’t know...

We were in a band together 25 years. Our families have been friends forever. Our wives were ...
After dropping her new song, “My Future,” last month, Billie Eilish debuted the track on the third night (Aug. 19) of the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Before starting her performance, she not only shared her thoughts about the importance of voting but also what’s at stake. She said: “You don’t need me to tell you that things are a mess. Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about. We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID[-19], not deny them. Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality and that starts by voting for someone who understands how much is at stake. Someone who’s building a team that shares our values. It starts with voting against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden. Silence is not an option, and we cannot...

Scotland is one of the few countries that’s created an extensive fund to support its performing arts venues, but that hasn’t stopped it from tightening restrictions on music elsewhere. Last week, Scottish government officials proposed a ban on music in bars and other hospitality venues to help prevent “leaning in to talk,” reports BBC. This order arrived alongside other updated guidelines for bars and restaurants to prevent the spread of COVID-19. By law, there should be “no background music and TVs should be muted so that people do not have to lean in to be heard.” Additionally, bars and restaurants in Scotland must provide table service, allow pre-booking, and avoid customers standing together or queuing. Police and local environmental health teams will enforce these regulations if neces...
