Source: YouTube / Youtube You can’t know where you going unless you know where you’ve been and for OG east coast Hip-Hoppers we knew that if your favorite rapper didn’t have a beat from DJ Premier, he didn’t have an album. Well, it seems an OG MC from the West recognized the sentiment as he’s gone and linked up with Premo for some head boppin’ hood sh*t us older heads and some newer ones can appreciate. Two decades after introducing himself to the game as a “straight up menace,” MC Eiht links up with DJ Premier and Conway The Machine for his visuals to “Honcho” where they kick it in a garage with some low riders equipped with the hydraulics on some true-blue LA ish. The rock stars have since given the 10-year-old rock prodigy her flowers and then some: Morello gifted her with a brand new black Fender Soul Power Stratocaster in June and just this Saturday (Aug. 29), Grohl squared off with his own sticks after the U.K.-based wunderkind challenged him. Rock out to Bushell’s five rave- and rage-worthy covers. Brandy Vs Monica’s ‘Verzuz’ Was a Record Breaker

The Brandy vs Monica “Verzuz” wasn’t just a hit, it was huge. The R&B legends smashed all “Verzuz” records, organizers say, en route to pulling-in more than 6 million views. That’s well up on the initial reports of 1.2 million fans tuning in on Instagram. Breaking the numbers down, the online face-off raised more than $250,000 for Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote, and generated 1.9 million tweets, including 1 million in the U.S. alone. The veteran artists used the sparring session to “remind the world how next-level their respective catalogs,” wrote Billboard’s Carl Lamarre. Also during the back-and-forth, Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris called in with a live video message for the two artists, thanking them for their contributions to the culture and using the pla...

Mara – CULT OF LILITH

RATING: 8.5/10 Death metal fans have been particularly well served this year, with countless strong releases from all over the planet. But even in these fecund times, a band like CULT OF LILITH stands out. Coming straight out of Reykjavik, Iceland, with the kind of force and ferocity that always pays dividends in the underground, this five-piece seem to have arrived fully formed and with astonishing levels of confidence driving them forward. Put simply, “Mara” is an absolutely fucking ridiculous debut album. Regardless of the self-evident virtuoso prowess of its creators, this is an audacious opening statement: absurdly imaginative, technical death metal with fire in its belly and more brilliant ideas than seems strictly fair. Released a month or two ago as a preview single, &#...

Tokyo Rat Preps for Album with Futuristic New Single “Edge of Tokyo”

With the release of one of its singles, “Edge of Tokyo,” Tokyo Rat now continues to prep and build anticipation around the forthcoming project. “Edge of Tokyo” is meant to take its listener through an apocalyptic neo-Tokyo, with its release paired with a music video visually exploring the concept. Listeners and viewers will follow a hero, presumably Tokyo Rat, as they speed through the futuristic cityscape and chase down evil. From chunky bass synths to a pulsing, tension-building melody, “Edge of Tokyo” easily lives up to its dark and edgy inspirations. Even more impactful is that “Edge of...

Illicit Rave In Norway Results In 27 Poisoned from Carbon Monoxide

Illegal gatherings have been on the rise in recent weeks in both the United States and Europe amid the continuance of COVID-19 restrictions around public events.  One such gathering took place in Oslo, Norway over the weekend, where an estimated 200 attendees partied in a private, secret bunker. The incident nearly turned fatal, however, for several attendees, who were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning in the immediate aftermath of the event. When emergency vehicles arrived on the scene, seven patrons were lying unconscious. Portable generators used to power the stage’s lighting and sound system are the suspected source of the leak with one unnamed attendee commenting that this particular event was the largest in scale to occur in the “Rave Cave” in several...
