There are two kinds of people: Those who will tell you Wussy is one of the greatest rock bands of this era, and those who’ve never heard of them. This week was a very sad one for the former, as Wussy (and ex-Ass Ponys) guitarist and pedal steel player John Erhardt has died at age 58. His bandmates confirmed the news that he died on Monday in a Facebook post earlier today (May 7), noting “The details aren’t ours to know or share so as a courtesy please don’t inquire.” The post also credits Erhardt with encouraging both bands to stick with their unconventional names: I remember getting home from a practice one night where we’d discussed it and getting a call from John, who let me know that “we’re not changing our name…it’s chicken shit.” So we kept Ass Ponys and drifted through major label l...
Disney already announced they’re working on a third National Treasure film, but it turns out that’s not all the Mouse House has in store for the goofy historical fiction title. In a new interview with Collider, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed plans for a National Treasure TV series that would live on Disney Plus. According to Bruckheimer, the TV show spin-off won’t follow Benjamin Franklin Gates, a.k.a. Nicolas Cage, but rather a “much younger” crew equally committed to undergoing made-up, elaborate, risk-riddled plots to save a watered-down version of American history. “We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen. Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but...
Tei Shi, the Canadian-Columbian artist known for her collaborations with Blood Orange, has released the new song called “Die 4 Ur Love”. For the songwriter born Valerie Teicher, “Die 4 Ur Love” is her first new music of the year. It’s faster and more danceable than the tracks on her 2019 album, La Linda, and the way she repeats, “Die, die, die, die, die for your love now,” recalls a songwriter like The-Dream, who finds the stickiest part of a hook and runs it past the ear over and over again until you can’t get it out of your head. Via Stereogum, Tei Shei explained that the song is about feeling like the world is ending. She said, “Die 4 Ur Love” is a song about the end of the world as you know it. About losing someone or something you never knew you could lose, and then all...
Source: NBC NewsWire / Getty It is apparent that these quarantined times might be driving a lot of us a little stir crazy while also upping the creativity as we’re all cooped up in the midst of the spring season. A direct result of our time indoors has birthed a video featuring Megan Thee Stallion reimagined as Steve Harvey with hilarious results. A social media account by the name of @mystergiraffe posted a clip onto Twitter and Instagram featuring Hot Girl Meg’s NPR Tiny Desk performance alongside New York funk and soul band, Phony Ppl, which was a crowd-pleasing affair when it first aired. However. the Myster Giraffe remix has taken the video and its popularity to new heights by putting the longtime comedian and host’s face onto Megan’s with expert seamlessness. We’ll bet you good, long...

Some Los Angeles County retailers can reopen with curbside pickup only — including stores that sell music, toys, books, clothing and sporting goods. California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday issued the broadest loosening of his stay-at-home order so far, allowing some retailers to reopen but not have customers in stores. The guidelines were made “with an eye on turning the page and moving into a new phase in terms of our economic recovery,” Newsom said. The announcement was the result of improvement in battling the coronavirus. It moves California into the second phase of a methodical four-step process to full reopening. It covers only a sliver of retail businesses as well as manufacturers’ warehouses considered low risk for the virus. Stores that will be allowed to open with curbside...
Jonas Brothers fans are a sucker for what they’re serving up: The three accepted the All-In Challenge today (May 7) by promising to fly to one lucky winner’s hometown for a day of giving back at a chosen charity followed by a barbeque with the winner’s friends. But who’s on what BBQ duty? Kevin Jonas will man the grill, Joe Jonas will hit the DJ booth and Nick Jonas will breakdance, according to Joe. But Nick denied having any intention of burning it up on the dance floor. “I’m no good behind the barbeque, but I’ll give it my best shot. Hopefully, I don’t burn the hot dogs and the burgers,” the “Bacon” singer reassured the family trio’s eight million Instagram followers with their special announcement video. They&...
Kane Brown might hope he’s “Cool Again” like last summer, but the country star is currently burning up on the Billboard Hot 100 with a No. 68 debut (chart dated May 9). “We wrote ‘Cool Again’ at a writing retreat when it was about 20 degrees outside,” Brown said about the song of the summer contender, which he released last month and wrote with Josh Hoge, Matthew McGinn and Lindsay Rimes. “At the time, it was about missing warm weather, but then it became so much more. It made us think about all the amazing memories of summer. We were really wanting to go back to that. I think there’s something people can really relate to in their lives, especially right now.” Check out the lyrics below. I’ve been thinkin’ about ya late...
