With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here is Nashville alt-pop trio Nightly A lot of these songs are from up and comers; your future favorite bands. These are some songs that we listen to on the road, and now that keep us sane during quarantine. “You Should Probably Just Hang Up” – NightlyThis song was written and recorded in quarantine. It’s cool to live in an age where you can write something and release it a few weeks later. We have a ton of new music coming, but this felt like a fun one to release first. “Always, I’ll Care” – Jeremy ZuckerHonestly I have been jamming this entire album so much that it was really hard to pick just one of these songs. The whole record j...

Respect The Architects

Harlem-based producer Crystal Caines has always been the master of her own fate. Raised in a musical household by Guyanese parents, she began making her own music around 16 years old. She started out just wanting to sing, then began to rap, but wasn’t getting the sound she wanted from producers she knew, so she started to make her own beats. A friend gave her a keyboard and she taught herself how to record, mix and produce. “From then on it was a blessing for me to be able to take what I felt here and put it on wax.” Caines released her first single, “Whiteline,” in 2014 and went on to collaborate with A$AP Ferg, MIA and Baauer. Inspired by everyone from Trackmasters to the Neptunes, she crafted a sound thick with 808s and sample-based melodies driven by closed hi-hats. “Everything gotta h...

“Black Lives Matter” Painted In Front Of Trump Tower In New York City

Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty Well, it’s done. Today New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio fulfilled his promise to paint “BLACK LIVES MATTER” in giant yellow letters right in front of the Racist-In-Chief’s Fifth Avenue Trump Tower building in Manhattan. Something that caused Donald Trump to have a meltdown on Twitter after it was announced. Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty Still his Twitter fingers and fragile as eggs ego wasn’t enough to keep the mural from getting underway and today it finally happened as the Mayor, Rev. Al Sharpton, NY residents and New York City workers put yellow paint to concrete and sent a message to the most divisive President in American history. We’re lowkey surprised that Donald Trump didn’t send the National Guard to protect the street in front of his 58-floor buildin...

Pop Smoke Murder: 5 People Arrested Over Slain Rapper’s Death

Source: Claudio Lavenia / Getty That took entirely too long. Five people have been arrested over the death of beloved Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke. Today (July 9), the Los Angeles Police Department announced that three adult males and two juveniles got pinched for the February 19 murder of Pop Smoke. Born Bashar Jackson, he was staying in a Hollywood Hills home where he was the victim of a home invasion. In security footage of the incident, four men are described as creeping up on the Hollywood Hills crib of the “Dior” rapper around 4:30 in the morning. The four reportedly snuck into the back and after a couple of minutes, only three of them walked back up to the front of the home by the side, while the fourth seems to have walked in the backdoor (but there was no camera in that area). That f...

Carl Cox Reimagines deadmau5 and The Neptunes’ “Pomegranate” Into Tech House Thumper

deadmau5 and The Neptunes sent nu-disco shockwaves across the industry when they dropped their striking hit single “Pomegranate.”  As the weeks went on, they passed the production torch over to French Original and Ninajirachi, who each delivered one-of-a-kind official remixes. To close out the “Pomegranate” chapter of deadmau5’s forthcoming LP, we’ve received the third and final remix by none other than the three-deck wizard himself, Carl Cox.  The melding of four iconic producers onto one track was bound to be gold, and they proved not to disappoint. Cox delivers over six minutes of heart-thumping tech house flavors expertly crafted to support Pharrell’s iconic vocal stylings. He brings the track straight to the darkest of danc...

DVRKO seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The masked producer’s first release “This Is How” quickly gained millions of streams. His follow-up release “Lights Up” is following the same success and is a contender for song of the summer. We managed to sit down with the masked producer to discuss his signature sound, studio, and more. We see it on Spotify’s Friday Cratediggers and your Spotify streams seem to be gaining pretty quickly and the music video is a hoot! So we have to ask…..Who IS DVRKO? DVRKO: DVRKO?
