The Batman Spin-Off TV Series Coming to HBO Max from Matt Reeves
It’s long been known that the forthcoming Batman film starring Robert Pattinson is intended to launch a new trilogy. But it turns out there’s even more story to tell, as director Matt Reeves has signed on to bring a spin-off TV series to HBO Max. The streaming service today announced it has given a series commitment to the project from Reeves, The Batman producer Dylan Clark, and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter. The police procedural will be set in the universe Reeves and Pattinson establish in the upcoming film. Winter will write the script, which will follow members of the Gotham City Police Department as they wrestle with Gotham’s colorful cast of ne’er-do-wells. Three Men Formally Charged in Pop Smoke Murder Case
Three men have been formally charged in connection with the murder of Pop Smoke. TMZ reports that Corey Walker, 19 and Keandre Rogers, 18, have been charged with murder, while Jaquan Murphy, 21, has been charged with attempted murder. Two other individuals under the age of 18 were also detained on Thursday, but their respective charges have not yet been disclosed. The Los Angeles Police Department says the men were part of a street gang responsible for several murders, including Pop Smoke’s. Black Thought Announces Streams of Thought, Vol. 3 EP, Shares “Thought vs. Everybody”: Stream
Later this month will see The Roots MC Black Thought release a new EP called Streams of Thought, Vol. 3. In anticipation, the hip-hop veteran has revealed the lead single, “Thought vs. Everybody”. The forthcoming effort follows Streams of Thought, Vol. 1 and Streams of Thought, Vol. 2, both of which hit shelves in 2018 and were produced by 9th Wonder and Salaam Remi, respectively. Production for Vol. 3 was handled by Sean C (Talib Kweli, JAY-Z), and the EP includes guest appearances from Pusha-T, Killer Mike, Swizz Beatz, Portugal. R.I.P. Fiona Adams, Early Photographer of The Beatles Dies at 84
Fiona Adams, the iconic classic rock photographer who documented the early days of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan, has died at 84. According to BBC News, her son Karl confirmed her death at a hospice on June 26th. She had been battling pancreatic cancer. Adams’ photography career early on featured architectural work, as well as assignments related to travel, advertising, wildlife, and general news coverage. It was her pivot to pop culture photography, however, that resulted in Adams’ worldwide fame. The Guernsey-born Adams captured numerous photos of the Fab Four, the most iconic of which — John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr jumping in the air on a London bomb site — was shot for Boyfriend Magazine in April 1963. He is giving back to the community by empowering the next generation of visionaries. As spotted on Vogue the designer is giving back to people of color. In an interview with the fashion trade magazine he announced that he is launching a new program that will help empower the black creatives of tomorrow.
