The Birth Of Hateful Existence – DOMINION OF SUFFERING

RATING: 8/10 A new project from Neptun, former drummer with Slovakian death metal legends NOMENMORTIS, DOMINION OF SUFFERING‘s debut is one of those low-key, unassuming releases that could easily get lost in these wildly fruitful times. Fortunately, it jumped out at me like a heavily armed stalker. Like pretty much every death and black metal debut ever, the Slovakian four-piece’s first foray begins with a spooky intro: a moment of eerie calm before the inevitable storm. In that and many other regards, “The Birth Of Hateful Existence” conforms to fairly standard notions of an underground extreme metal album, and yet there is something else going on here too. When the opening title track erupts, the riffs are undeniably venomous and dissonant, but there’s a sub...

Real Estate Broker Behind David Guetta’s “United At Home” Miami Stream Speaks About Organizing the Event

Back on April 18th, 2020, David Guetta raised the bar of the music livestreaming industry with his ballyhooed “United At Home” livestream event for COVID-19 relief. Flanked by magnificent high-rises in Downtown Miami, Guetta set up camp at the Icon Brickell and threw down a scintillating set with festival-grade production, garnering over 12 million viewers and raising a staggering $700,000 for COVID-19 relief. Such a momentous and unique breakthrough event does not happen without a concerted and robust plan of action, though, and Guetta’s team worked tirelessly to make it happen. In preparation for the event, Guetta teamed up with the Miami Downtown Development Authority and residential real estate broker Michael Wiesenfeld, an associate at Bricke...

Guantanamo Bae’s “Happy Sadness” Receives Bubbly House Remix from Jämes Jäger

Electronic artist Guantanamo Bae has tapped young gun Jämes Jäger for a scintillating remix of his future bass jam “Happy Sadness.” Jäger, who hails from the City of Brotherly Love, did a brilliant job of flipping the original on its head by producing a chin-bopping 127 BPM tune in a refreshing deep house twist. Jäger’s rework is minimalistic in nature, but still packs a forceful house punch that should get feet tapping across dance floors, should they ever open back up after the pandemic. Keeping the velvety vocal chops of Guantanamo Bae’s original single intact, he strips down the soaring future bass arrangement while still infusing its euphoric undertones under a kinetic house backbone, which infectiously blends pop and house under one um...

2021 Rock am Ring and Rock im Park Festivals: System of a Down, Green Day, and Volbeat to Headline

Now, organizers have announced the initial details of the 2021 fests, with planned 2020 headliners System of a Down, Green Day, and Volbeat all agreeing to sign on for next year’s events. Rock am Ring and Rock im Park were set to celebrate their 35th and 25th anniversaries, respectively, this year. In addition to System of a Down, Green Day, and Volbeat, the 2020 lineups would have also featured Deftones, Korn, Disturbed, Weezer, The Offspring, and many more acts. Ice Cube Posting Anti-Semitic and Russian Propaganda on Twitter

Since the murder of George Floyd spurred a nationwide uprising of police brutality protests, Ice Cube’s music, specifically N.W.A.’s “Fuck Tha Police”, has felt extremely on-point. His tweets, on the other hand, have not: the veteran rapper and actor has been uploading images promoting anti-Semitic and Russian propaganda. On June 6th, Ice Cube tweeted an image of a mural that was removed from a wall in London’s East End for being anti-Semitic. The picture features a handful of caricatured Jewish businessmen playing a game of Monopoly on top of a table that sits on the backs of black men. The image itself contains the words, “All we have to do is stand up and their little game is over.” Earlier today, he shared a picture of a black cube in the center of the Jewish Star of David. The pu...

Coachella Postponed Until 2021 [Updated]

Coachella was one of the first large-scale gatherings impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Initially, organizers had postponed the two-weekend music festival from April to October with the hope that live music would be back up and running by the fall. Now, though, Billboard reports that Goldenvoice, the production company behind Coachella, has ditched plans for an October event and is instead looking ahead to spring 2021. But even that may be wishful thinking. Update: Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser has signed an order canceling the October 2020 stagings of Coachella and its sister festival, Stagecoach, according to KESQ. “I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall,” Kaiser said in a statement. “In addition, events like Coachel...
