Bun B Offers To Help Settle Boosie Badazz & Webbie Beef

Source: Prince Williams / Getty Past collaborators Boosie Badazz and Webbie appear to be at odds with one another, with the brewing beef spilling over into social media. Bun B stepped in to offer his assistance in settling the disagreement between the former friends as only a certified OG can. Last week, YFN Lucci shared an Instagram post showing love to Boosie for his support over the years, prompting Webbie to reply under the post and slam his one-time homie. It appears that Webbie felt that his support of Boosie when he was facing legal issues wasn’t recognized or appreciated and that got a lengthy and emotional response from Boosie that stated his side of the argument. Seeing enough of the back and forth, Bun B took to Instagram and shared that he and the late Pimp C of UGK had their m...

TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith Says Kendrick Lamar Will “Return Soon”

Source: Noel Vasquez / Getty While fans patiently await the return of Kendrick Lamar to the rap game and French Montana awaits a response to his challenge, TDE’s CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith gives everyone a glimmer of hope pertaining to K. Dot’s future. During a LiveStream on IG this past Sunday (May 17), the TDE head honcho gave an update of sorts when he commented “Stay patient king Kendrick will return soon.” Well, something’s better than nothing. Fans haven’t gotten any new Kendrick Lamar work since 2018’s Black Panther soundtrack featured Kung-Fu Kenny all over the album. Since then Kendrick’s been laying hella low but producer Thundercat let it slip that he did get some work in with K. Dot in recent months. That being said we wouldn’t be surprised if Kenny released a new project g...

Source: Prince Williams / Getty With the overwhelming response to the epic #Verzuz Battles, it’s no surprise that legendary MCs are lining up for their shot to go head to head, but according to N.O.R.E., both DMX and Eminem have confirmed that they got next. According to N.O.R.E.,  last Saturday (May 16) after Ludacris and Nelly went head-to-head with an arsenal of hits, DMX and Eminem both reached out to the #Verzuz creators to be the next celebrities battling their top 20 hits. Sharing the news via Instagram with a picture of himself and DMX, the Drink Champs host notes that #Verzuz co-creator Swizz Beatz said he spoke to Eminem who is down to battle DMX. Beatz apparently called X to let him know. “This moment is so Legend !!!”N.O.R.E captioned the photo. “3 minutes before this @the...

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Star Jackie Cox Shares a Diverse Playlist of Her All-Time Favorite Songs

On last week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the final five queens took their talents to the Strip to perform in a massive lip-sync medley of some of the original songs from RuPaul’s Drag Race Live in Las Vegas. Performing their very own verses, complete with choreography and set decorations, the remaining queens aimed to impress the judges one last time. It was a good night for Gigi Goode, who snatched her fourth and final challenge win, along with a spot in the finale. But Crystal Methyd & Jackie Cox found themselves on the chopping block — lip syncing to Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor,” the two vied for the last spot in the finale in the final main stage lip sync of the season. In the end, Crystal managed to earn her place, w...

Kid Cudi Just Dropped a Fashion Collab With Virgil Abloh to Celebrate His New Single

The rapper also premiered the lyric video for “Leader of the Delinquents.” Kid Cudi returned in April with his first solo single in nearly four years, “Leader of the Delinquents,” and now he’s dropping the perfect merch to go with it. On Tuesday (May 19), the rapper unveiled his new fashion collaboration with Virgil Abloh: a chic T-shirt featuring a sketch of the rapper by the Off-White founder and current Louis Vuitton artistic director with the name of the single emblazoned across the back. In conjunction with the new merch, Cudi also released the colorful lyric video for the track, which serves as the lead single for his first solo project since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’. Cudi has certainly had plenty to celebrate lately: Along wi...

Noah Cyrus Contemplates the Universe in ‘The End of Everything’ Video: Watch

If things seem grim now, locked down, shut out and cut off from all that we used to know, get a load of the video for the title track from Noah Cyrus‘ The End of Everything EP. The beautiful disaster clip released on Tuesday (May 19) contemplates the rapid devolution of our planet and eventual end of it all in a three-minute nature film to end all nature films. “The inspiration behind this song changed my life,” Cyrus says in a statement about the gentle acoustic country pop ballad from the recently released mini-album. “It’s all inspired by a time-lapse video of the universe I saw by John Boswell, who also directed my video for this song. For me, it really put into perspective how shortly lived our moments here as humans are. Situations from when I was younger started ente...

God, Family, Country: Vet Craig Morgan’s New Album Tackles All-American Issues

America is headed into the oddest Memorial Day in its history. The National Memorial Day concert will be broadcast from indoors instead of in front of a crowd outside the U.S. Capitol Building. Seats at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will remain empty. And in many states, citizens are being encouraged to avoid barbecues or, at the very least, to exercise social distancing when they attend. Despite the unusual nature of living through a pandemic-challenged era, Craig Morgan is moving forward with the release of a new album, God, Family, Country. Due May 22, the Friday of the holiday weekend, the project is practically made for Memorial Day: It focuses on meaning-of-life and meaning-of-death issues while exploring sometimes uncomfortable topics. Morgan, who served more than two decades in t...

Katy Perry’s ‘Daisies’ Is A Vibey Trip Into Nature — Featuring Her Baby Bump

If you’ll recall, Katy Perry is having a baby girl. We first learned this via her music video for “Never Worn White,” an ode to her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, which dropped in March — and back then, Perry promised it was going to be a “jam packed summer.” She made good on that by dropping “Daisies,” a vibey new track, at midnight (May 15). On it, Perry’s blissed out, though the production suggests a slight return to her clubby hits of the early 2000s. There’s a cool moment at the end of the chorus where she sings the title word three times, and on the final turn, her voice crackles into a blur of electronic echoes. What’s missing is a massive backbeat — but that’s replaced here by an overall empowering feeling, made good by the ...

Charli XCX Lets Us Know How She’s Feeling Now With New Album Made In Self-Isolation

On April 6, Charli XCX announced her intention to try an experiment. Over the course of the next five weeks, she’d create a brand-new album — including meeting the demands of music videos and promotion — all entirely from scratch while self-isolating. The end result of that period of creativity is finally here: As promised, it’s called How I’m Feeling Now, and it’s simply a vision. The album comes loaded with the singles “Claws,” “Forever,” and “I Finally Understand,” all trademark future-pop looks at her life in quarantine that also saw her embracing more stream-of-consciousness lyrics she shared with fans in real time as she was making them. The other eight songs here range from insanely catchy (“7 Years”) and sugary...

MTV’s Prom-athon Is A Virtual Prom Bash For The Class Of 2020, With Help From Michelle Obama

Prom season is here. Even in the face of dances being modified or outright canceled or due to COVID-19 — something one student told MTV News was “weird and upsetting” — springtime still means prom time. And it’s still a time to celebrate: That’s why MTV and When We All Vote, Michelle Obama’s nonpartisan organization, along with the 2020 Prom Challenge, are hosting a veritable virtual prom blowout event for the Class of 2020. The Prom-athon draws near. It’s a way to tie in proms to yet another important milestone — registering to vote for the first time. Earlier this year, the 2020 Prom Challenge selected 20 winning high schools across the United States that had successfully integrated voter registration “in the most creative and impactful ways.R...
