Blood Orange Announces Four Songs EP, Shares New Song “Jesus Freak Lighter”: Listen

Blood Orange, aka Dev Hynes, has announced a new EP. Four Songs is out September 16 and marks Hynes first release for RCA. Produced and written by Hynes, Four Songs features collaborations with Ian Isaiah, Eva Tolkin, and Erika de Casier. Peep the album art and listen to the first track, “Jesus Freak Lighter,” below. While Four Songs is the first Blood Orange record since 2019’s Angel’s Pulse mixtape, Hynes has been busy. Queen Elizabeth II died today at Balmoral Castle, her estate in Scotland, after a 70-year reign. Her family gathered to her side after doctors announced that they were “concerned” about her health. She was 96. As the head of the royal family with a decades-long tenure in power, Elizabeth was an omnipresent figure within popular culture. In addition to the many portrayals of her in television and film, she was the inspiration for the Smiths’ The Queen is Dead, the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen,” the Stone Roses’ “Elizabeth My Dear,” and so much music. Jamaican reggae artist Protoje has announced his next album. It’s called Third Time’s the Charm, and it arrives September 23 via Protoje’s own label In.Digg.Nation Collective/RCA. Jack White has announced a new live album from his ongoing 2022 trek. Jack White Live: The Supply Chain Issues Tour is available for pre-order starting today through October 31. The deluxe set is being released by White’s own Third Man Records, marking the 54th installment of their Vault Package subscription service. The set includes three LPs—one blue, one black, and one white—featuring live recordings from White’s current tour, as well as a glittery blue 7″ with a demo version of “A Tip From You to Me,” which appears on White’s latest album Entering Heaven Alive. Los Enanitos Verdes’ Frontman Marciano Cantero Dead at 62

Marciano Cantero, lead vocalist and bass player of prolific Argentine rock band Los Enanitos Verdes, passed away on Thursday (Sept. 8), just two weeks after his 62nd birthday on Aug. 25. Cantero (real name Horacio Eduardo Cantero Hernández) was in intensive care after undergoing surgery due to a kidney infection on Sept. 5, according to El Tiempo, which also revealed that the singer had one of his kidneys and part of his spleen removed at the Cuyo Clinic in his hometown Mendoza, Argentina.
