The beloved rapper’s widow has confirmed that her husband’s books of rhymes (plural) were indeed stolen, allegedly. Back on August 31, Kweli took to Instagram to call out Alapatt as a “culture vulture,” but what really threw fans for a loop were the Broooklyn rapper’s claims that DOOM’s rhymebook had been pilfered. Related Stories “One day the hiphop community is going to have to discuss what a lying, stealing, conniving culture vulture Eothen Apalatt AKA Egon from Now Again Records is,” read part of Kweli’s IG message. “This is a non Black person who routinely takes advantage of Black artists and brags about it.” Alapatt is well-known...

Pusha T Responds To Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense Quoting His Rhyme

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz On Wednesday (Sept. 7), social media was buzzing when the official Ukraine Ministry of Defense Twitter account quoted a Pusha T rhyme to announce the kind of damage they’ve inflicted on invading Russian forces, and now King Push has responded to the famous tweet. Hours after the Defense of Ukraine Twitter account wrote “I put numbers on the boards” and broke down exactly how many Russian tanks, jets, and helicopters they took down, Pusha T retweeted their post and simply stated “Great taste in music for the win…” Y’all know Drake somewhere a tad bit jealous that Ukraine didn’t quote any of his many hits. Related Stories It was a bit surprising to learn that Ukraine was familiar with Pusha T much less a lyric from his 2013 c...

OG ‘Lord of The Rings’ Cast Reunite To Condemn ‘Rings of Power’ Racist Backlash

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Ben Rothstein / Rings of Power Racism has somehow found its way into Middle Earth, home to Elves, Orcs, and other mythical creatures. The original cast members from the Lord of The Ring trilogy have banded together to call for inclusivity following racist backlash to the new Rings of Power Prime Video series. Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan, the stars of Peter Jackson’s beloved Lord of The Rings films, hopped on social media to show support for the diverse casting in the new Prime Video LOTR series, Rings of Power. While disappointing but not surprising, some butt-hurt nerds felt the need to complain about the fictional creatures of Middle-Earth having melanin because they feel it goes against the original source material.
