Kenya Barris To Write and Direct Warner Bros. Remake of ‘The Wizard of Oz’
Kenya Barris is set to write and direct the upcoming remake of The Wizard of Oz for Warner Bros. Details regarding the film remain under wraps, however Deadline reports that it will be “a modern reimagining of the iconic musical.” The black-ish creator’s Khalabo Ink Society is producing while Sheila Walcott is overseeing for Warner Bros. The cast is also yet to be announced. Barris is recently in post-production of his feature directorial debut You People, which was co-written by Jonah Hill and stars the actor, Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, Nia Long and David Duchovny to name a few. Young Thug has been sued by Atlanta-based A-1 Concert Entertainment over a cancelled show due to his incarceration. According to reports, the company is suing the artist, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, for breach of contract after he supposedly failed to return half of the talent fee initially given to him upfront. The suit reads that Thugger was set to perform at State Farm Arena on June 18 and agreed to a $300,000 USD fee for a 45-minute performance.
