A lawsuit accusing Snoop Dogg of sexual assaulting a woman in Anaheim, California in 2013 has been refiled, documents obtained by Pitchfork show. The lawsuit, which was initially reported in February, was later dismissed after the rapper and other defendants filed motions for dismissal and the woman filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with her attorney. The case was refiled in a California federal court earlier this week, removing the rapper’s business ventures from the lawsuit to sue only Snoop Dogg and fellow defendant Bishop Don “Magic” Juan. The lawsuit reasserts many of the allegations from Jane Doe’s previous filings. Namely, in the complaint, the woman alleges that Snoop Dogg and Bishop Don “Magic” Juan forced her to have oral sex with them in 2013. The new lawsuit claims that the...
This was meant to be a 5 Albums I Can’t Live Without column, but Daniel had another idea… ‘See the thing is, what I was thinking would be much more fun for me, and I could really get my teeth into, would be the five motorcycles I couldn’t live without.’ Name Daniel Ash Best known for I suppose I’m known for using an EBow with a guitar or what’s called a sustainer. I use that extensively. I use it a lot in all the bands, just where it sustains their note. Current location California. Really want to be in I’ve got a quote from Steve McQueen, I try to relate to 100%: “I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth.” That’s an actual quote from him and I completely agree. Not into big cities. I like the wilderness and I love traveling on my...
It has been 10 years since rapper Macklemore broke out of Seattle with the singles “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us,” and today (July 22), the artist is back with a bang on his new song “Chant,” featuring Tones And I. The pair performed the song this morning on “Good Morning America” live from New York’s Central Park. The uplifting “Chant” was produced by longtime Macklemore collaborator Budo (Joshua Karp) and was co-written with him in tandem with Seattle cohorts such as hip-hop artist Tyler Andrews and producer/arranger Andrew Joslyn. In its accompanying Jake Magraw-directed black-and-white video, Macklemore salutes his Seattle roots with concert footage from Memorial Stadium, references to the hopeful return of the Seattle Supersonics (who moved to Oklahoma City to become the Thunder in...

Pat Benatar has retired her classic song “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” “in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings.” Benatar hasn’t performed “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” live since May, and she has no plans to do so going forward. In an interview with USA Today, she explained, “I tell [fans], if you want to hear the song, go home and listen to it.” “[The title] is tongue in cheek, but you have to draw the line,” she added. “I can’t say those words out loud with a smile on my face, I just can’t. I’m not going to go on stage and soap box – I go to my legislators – but that’s my small contribution to protesting. I’m not going to sing it. Tough.” Advertisement Related Video Written by Eddie Schwartz and released by Benatar in 1980, “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” was Bena...
You get what you pay for, the saying goes, and Netflix seems determined to prove that point with a cheaper, ad-supported tier that also comes with a smaller, worse catalog. As Protocol reports, the backbone of the ad-supported tier seems likely to be Netflix originals. Many of the company’s existing contracts for third-party content would allow other companies to take a slice of the ad-money pie, and while co-CEO Ted Sarandos has been trying to renegotiate those deals, it’s hard to convince other companies to willingly take less money. “We will clear some additional content, but certainly not all of it,” Sarandos said. “But I don’t think it’s a material hold-back to the business.” Advertisement Related Video He added, “The vast majority of what people watch on Netflix, we ca...
Grab your dice and sharpen your pencil, Hasbro and Paramount Pictures unveiled the first trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves during day one of Comic-Con. The film will charge into theaters on March 3rd, 2023. This is the second attempt at a DnD franchise, following the disastrous film released in 2000. It’s too early to tell whether the producers have earned an inspiration point or failed a wisdom save, but there’s no doubt they’ve assembled a kick-ass adventuring party led by Chris Pine, Rege-Jean Page, Jason Wong, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis, not to mention Hugh Grant doing what Hugh Grant does best: play a villain. Pine described the film as, “It’s Game of Thrones with Princess Bride and with a little bit of Spin...
Pat Benatar fans won’t get to enjoy the soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s biggest hit in concert for the time being, as the artist is omitting “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” from her live set lists due to the recent spate of mass shootings in the United States. The Eddie Schwartz-penned song, a No. 9 hit on The Billboard Hot 100 in 1980, has been widely interpreted for decades as a metaphor for the rough-and-tumble nature of love and relationships rather than a commentary on guns or violence. But in an interview with USA Today, Benatar said, “fans are having a heart attack and I’m like, ‘I’m sorry — in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings, I’m not singing it.’ I tell them, ‘if you want to hear the song, go home and listen to it.’ [The title] is tongue-in-ch...
