R&B superstar-on-the-rise Jordan Hawkins was an economics major—with hopes of becoming an investment banker—before committing to music, and even interned on Wall Street, creating a pretty unique segue into a life in music. “That same summer my uncle gave me a book by Dennis Kimbro entitled The Wealth Choice: Success Secrets of Black Millionaires. While he likely thought that it would inspire me to double down on my dreams to become a banker, the book inspired me to pursue my gifts in music,” Jordan tells me. “While all of the millionaires in the book had different trades, the most important commonality in their success was that they followed their passions. This trait gave them the drive to reach the success they aspired to achieve.” The North Carolina native credits his early life in ...

By late 2021, the odds of a Porcupine Tree reunion seemed beyond slim. It had been 12 years since the alt-prog band’s 10th LP (and apparent swan song), 2009’s The Incident, and singer-songwriter Steven Wilson realized his rabid audience wasn’t counting on a follow-up. “Fans had probably given up on [us] ever making another record,” he tells SPIN, his polite eloquence downplaying a hilariously massive understatement. It’s also not like Wilson initially had Porcupine Tree on the brain. After The Incident, feeling trapped in a hamster wheel of expectations and unspoken resentments, he stepped aside to focus on other projects — including various collaborations (Storm Corrosion with Opeth‘s Mikael Akerfeldt), numerous remixing gigs (King Crimson, XTC), and a solo career...

During an audio commentary for Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, Director Sam Raimi revealed that Kevin Feige cast John Krasinski as Reed Richards because of fan demand. “It’s so funny that Kevin [Feige] cast John [Krasinski] because the fans had a dream of who the perfect Reed Richards would be,” Raimi revealed. “And because this is an alternate universe, I think Kevin said, ‘Let’s make that dream come true.’ I’ve always really enjoyed all of his performances,’” said Raimi. Despite the short cameo, fans seemed to really enjoy seeing Krasinski play Richards. When discussing who could play the role, Krasinski would always be mentioned by fans when talking about who could potentially play the smartest man alive, and it seems that Feige has given the fans what they wanted. The comment ma...
