Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder Of Lil Tjay

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Jason Mendez / Getty More details are emerging about the shooting of Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, 21, early Wednesday morning (June 22) in New Jersey. A suspect been arrested in connection with the attack, which left two people shot, including the Bronx rapper. As previously reported, Tjay was shot in Edgewater, New Jersey, and his wounds required surgery. NBC News reports that the shooting occurred at a Chipotle located at a “residential and outdoor shopping center” per the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The Edgewater PD responded to a 911 call about 10 minutes after midnight and they found Tjay with multiple gunshot wounds. Twitter Now Allowing Blog Posts On Wednesday (Jun.22), Twitter officially unveiled its latest feature, “Notes.” Essentially it will bring long-form writing to the social media platform because it encourages writers to publish their freeform content without worrying about character limits. “Notes” not being restricted to the usual 280-character limit allows writers to drop blog posts that can feature photos, videos, and other tweets inside of a Note. New Vinyl Pressing Plant From MoFi and Music Direct to Open in California

A new vinyl pressing plant is headed to Oxnard, California, Billboard reports. The sorely needed addition to the vinyl economy—amid ongoing reports of backlogs and bottlenecks—will arrive thanks to the elite reissue label Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab and its parent company, Music Direct. The plant, which is purporting to become America’s “premier vinyl production facility,” is a partnership between MoFi, Music Direct’s Jim Davis, and vinyl engineers Rick and Edward Hashimoto. With eight presses from Nashville company Record Pressing Machines, the group will initially aim to press 2 million records a year with a strict focus on “quality—not quantity,” according to a press release. Pitchfork Music Festival Teams With Advocates for Urban Agriculture

Pitchfork Music Festival is pleased to announce a partnership with Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA), a Chicago-based organization that empowers urban growers to foster thriving communities through sustainable agriculture and equitable food systems while honoring Indigenous sovereignty, Black liberation, and immigrants’ rights.
