Weezer Announces SZNZ Broadway Residency, Release Summer EP
It’s the summer solstice, and you know what that means: Weezer dropped the Summer installment of their SZNS EP project today. In addition to new music, the band also announced SZNZ: In Residence On Broadway, which is exactly what it sounds like — a four-night Broadway residency in which Weezer will play each of its SZNZ EPs in its entirety, with a fifth date added for an “encore.” On top of playing the SZNZ EPs, each night will also feature “a unique set of Weezer classics.” The residency will be held at the Broadway Theatre Sept. 13-18, which is before the Autumn and Winter EPs are scheduled to come out. Beyoncé has officially shared the lead single of RENAISSANCE, entitled “Break My Soul.” Clocking in at just over four-and-a-half minutes, the cut features production work Tricky Stewart, Terius Nash and Bey herself. The upbeat, summer-ready cut fuses sonic hints of music from the islands as Beyoncé sings of finding new love and life — feeling free with the anthem as she sings “Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night.” RENAISSANCE will mark Beyoncé’s first full-length album since 2016’s award-winning Lemonade. Tokyo Revengers, a popular manga adapted into an anime series by Liden Films in 2021, has announced the official release date for Season 2. After a five-year hiatus, America’s favorite mechanical engineer, Bill Nye, is officially returning to showcase a new NBCUniversal series titled The End is Nye. The upcoming six-episode series will explore how global catastrophes — from “viruses to volcanoes, asteroids to authoritarianism, and climate change to chemical warfare” — can be both prevented and weathered through the power of science.
