Blossoms Set For U.K. No. 1 With ‘Ribbon Around the Bomb’

Blossoms are ready to detonate the U.K. albums chart with Ribbon Around the Bomb (EMI), which leads the midweek tally. If it holds its course, Ribbon will become the English indie outfit’s third leader, following 2016’s eponymously-titled debut and 2020’s Foolish Loving Spaces. Coming in at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart Update is Rammstein, with their eighth studio album, Zeit (Spinefarm). If it stays on target, Zeit will give the metal band their highest chart position, and just their second Top 10 after 2019’s Rammstein, which peaked at No. 3. Completing the podium at the halfway point is Dopamine (BMG), by British rock quintet Thunder. If it stays at No. 3, Dopamine, the band’s 14th studio LP, will be their equal career high. ‘FIFA 22’ Is Testing Cross-Play for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S

Eight months after the game’s original launch, EA Sports is now finally testing out cross-play for FIFA 22. The announcement was made in the game’s latest edition of Pitch Notes, which revealed that the publishing giant will now be running tests on the new feature across the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, previous-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One weren’t mentioned, so it’s not known at the moment whether cross-play will ever arrive properly on those platforms, but those on current-gen devices will be able to play with each other across both Online Seasons and Online Friendlies. EA noted that it has decided to restrict cross-play to just these two modes for now because it doesn’t want to introduce more potential issues with the game, but players can pro...

Seth Rogen Hosts Table Read of Friday’s “You Got Knocked the Fuck Out” Scene: Watch

After taking on Seinfeld the day before, Seth Rogen and his Table Reads series at Netflix Is a Joke Festival went in a decidedly different direction on Monday night by reading through Ice Cube and DJ Pooh’s 1995 stoner classic Friday. One of the highlights of the performance, naturally, was the recreation of the scene in which Deebo launches Red into the air after the latter asks for his bike back, leading Smokey to exclaim, “You got knocked the fuck out!” With Rogen giving stage directions, O’Shea Jackson Jr. stood in for his father Ice Cube’s character Craig Jones. GaTa filled in as Chris Tucker’s Smokey with Brian Simpson as DJ Pooh’s Red and Lil Rel Howery as Tiny “Zeus” Lister Jr.’s Deebo. After promising to get Craig high because “It’s Friday, you ain’t got no job, and...

BIBI Reflects on Her Debut Coachella Performance, Teases “Weird, Dark and Twisted” New Era

K-pop soloist BIBI could be described as a free spirit, but that feels a bit too reductive for an artist as ever-evolving as her. BIBI pulls from hip-hop, R&B, and pop sounds as she pleases, and describes her music as her “weird, dark, and twisted” way of expressing herself. Following a highly buzzed-about debut set at Coachella, BIBI sat down with Consequence to reflect on this moment in her career — a moment that only seems to be setting her up for more adventures. BIBI was part of the 88rising Head In the Clouds stage at Coachella. In reflecting on her time at Coachella Valley, two things prominently stand out: the desert dust, and getting to spend time with her fellow 88rising artists. “It was really overwhelming,” she says of her time at the festival, recalling the sheer size...

Judge Rejects Amber Heard’s Motion to Dismiss Johnny Depp Defamation Lawsuit

The judge presiding over Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard has rejected Heard’s motion to dismiss the case. The motion was filed by Heard’s attorneys after Depp’s legal team concluded their case on Tuesday. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Penny Azcarate said there is sufficient evidence for the case to continue. Instead, Heard’s attorneys will now have to convince a jury that the actress did not defame her ex-husband when she wrote a Washington Post in which she discussed being a victim of domestic abuse.  Although Heard did not refer to Depp by name or go into any details of the abuse, Depp claims the op-ed damaged his personal reputation and career in Hollywood. He subsequently sued Heard for $50 million, which led Heard to file a $100 million count...
