The Star Wars spinoff The Acolyte has been shelved after just one season, Deadline reported first. The Disney+ series was set towards the end of the High Republic era and sees a Padawan join forces with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes and the rise of darker powers.The show was created by Leslye Headland to bridge the events between 1999’s The Phantom Menace and 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.On the day of the show’s premiere, 4.8 million viewers tuned in to watch, according to Deadline. The film stars Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison and Alicia Silverstone with Kyle Mooney writing and directing.Y2K focuses on the turn of the millennium with a high school New Year's Eve party as its setting. The trailer shows this party go wrong with chaos ensuing when the clock strikes midnight. The Y2k bug, a real computer flaw that turned out to cause mild issues, causes a full apocalyptic tech meltdown in the film. Lara Croft is back and its coming to Netflix in the form of an animated series. After dropping a first look at Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft last year, Netflix has finally dropped the first teaser trailer which sees Hayley Atwell voice the titular archeologist set in the iconic video game franchise's universe. The events of the animated series arrives after the events of the Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy that sees the heroine enter her new chapter of globetrotting and ancient ruins explorations. Legendary Entertainment is officially developing a Pacific Rim prequel under Eric Heisserer's first-look TV deal. Variety has reported that under the deal, Heisserer is working with Carmen Lewis through their production company Chronology. With Chronology, they have signed a deal with Legendary Entertainment where they will "develop and shepherd IP-driven and related projects" for the studio. Amongst the first project to be publicized is the Pacific Rim origin story series.
