Hairstylists Predicted These Would Be the 10 Biggest Hair Trends of 2020

Last year’s top trending hairstyles were as functional as they were chic. From low ponytails to centre partings and Carrie Bradshaw hair, last year was all about understated styles with an emphasis on natural texture and hair health (which we love). As for hair colour, we saw a juxtaposition of warm and cool-toned shades. Golden honey shades were trending, as were icy platinum variations. Fiery red was seen alongside cool ash blonde. It was a year of hair colour contradiction. So, when 2020 rolled around, we couldn’t help but ask where that left us for the rest of the year? We decided to go right to the source to find out, asking top celebrity hairstylists, and we must say, we were surprised by their answers. We’re guessing you will be, too. ...

4 Classic Winter Trends French Women Are Wearing Right Now

There are few cities in the world that are as renowned for their fashionable inhabitants quite like Paris. The French capital is viewed as a place where trends emerge and are then emulated the world over thanks to stylish residents with a penchant for effortless ensembles.  Here at Who What Wear UK, we often look to our neighbours over the Channel in order to see what is resonating with the fashion-conscious women in France, and this winter, our process is no different.  In years passed, a weekend trip to Paris to tourist around, trend spot, and indulge in far too many croissants may have been on this agenda, but this year, however, I’m relying on Instagram for my supply of French fashion. Thanks to an abundance of incredibly cool influencers, it’s easy...

These Top-and-Jeans Outfits Are the Lazy Way To Do Party Dressing This Christmas

Ah, jeans and a nice top. Where would we be without this classic fashion combination? Usually our go-to for festive drinks and easy ‘out-out’ ensembles, it’s certainly served us well over the years, but this year it has taken on an even greater significance as we find ourselves on the lookout for low-effort, sofa-appropriate (and dare I say Zoom-ready) party looks. When heels and form-fitting frocks are the last thing we want to be wearing after months of comfy loungewear, a nice-top-and-jeans is the perfect way to dress up with minimal effort and maximum impact.  Luckily, our favourite influencers have provided us with more than enough inspiration in this department, with a plethora of top options—from sequins to sheer organza—crop...

15 Lesser-Known Princess Diana Outfits I Never Cared About Till Now

Some people are absolutely obsessed with the royals, including everything they wear, where they are going, who they are dating, and so on and so forth. I, on the other hand, am not. I mean I get it, trust me. The fact that anyone who is a royal is essentially untouchable stirs up weird feelings of obsession and wonderment as we all desperately try to get an inside look at the lives of the princesses, queens, duchesses, and more. I will admit that a lot of royals do dress well, especially Princess Diana. While that certainly is not news, after searching through archive images of the People’s Princess, I found 15 outfits I personally had never seen before that really struck a chord. The looks you’re about to see here are each the perfect combination of classic and trendy. Each an...

The High Street Puffer Coats That Will Get You Through the Cold Snap

Puffer coats have long been considered practical, but stylish? Thanks to a host of designer interpretations of the cosy, borderline-ugly outerwear, they’ve become something of a fashion girl must-have. Arguably it was last year when the puffer coat’s sartorial status really reached its peak, with the likes of Bottega Veneta creating a very special leather puffer coat, which swiftly made its way to the top of many an editor and influencer’s wish list.  But then in 2020, as we’re all spending a lot more time outside, the duvet coat has become a must-have for everyone, and not just those with budgets for the designer versions. It’s not surprising then that according to global fashion search platform Lyst, that searches for “duvet coat” are &...

The Best Coats, Boots, Bags, and Knits to Buy in the Sales

We’ve talked at length about what makes a solid sale-season purchase and what kind of clever tactics one should implement in the effort to avoid buying wardrobe duds, but if there’s just one super-quick pearl of shopping wisdom I would impart time and again, it’s that if you can purchase quality classics at a lower price, you won’t go wrong. And there’s no other time of the year when quality classics are so abundant and so important to our everyday closets. Where you may feel that a flirty summer dress or piece of swimwear doesn’t have to break the bank, a decent coat, knit, pair of boots, or handbag will last you year after year after year. So you want versions that are sturdy, well made, timeless in design, and simple enough to work...

The Chicest Pyjamas To Wear Around the House This Christmas

This time of year is typically when we see a spike in sales of fancy pyjamas, as many indulge in beautiful PJs for the Christmas period or to give as a gift. Given our lead-up to Christmas this year is spent pre-dominantly on the sofa, rather than bar hopping, it’s unsurprising that for many of us pyjamas have become something of a second skin. If you’re looking to upgrade from your trusty old flannel PJs, there are a number of cool labels creating beautiful sets that are worth spending a little more on.  Case in point: cult Scandi brand Ganni has just dropped an exclusive pyjama collaboration with Browns Fashion, comprising of cosy co-ords that offer the perfect balance of classic fabrics with plenty of cool-girl appeal.&n...

Holly Willoughby Just Wore the Same Dress as K-Mids, and It Looks So Good

Holly Willoughby is known for chronicling her outfits for This Morning on Instagram and we always keep an eye on her updates to gather any style inspiration. Well, with the festive season coming up Holly just stepped out in literally the dreamiest dress from cult brand The Vampire’s Wife, and according to liketoknow.it, it caused a 2,700% increase in searches for the brand. If that’s not enough, she also ticks the eco-credentials box as the dress was rented fashion rental platform Hurr. I guess it shouldn’t be that much of a shock. While there have been plenty of contenders for the top spot, it’s The Vampire’s Wife that remains the choice dress outfitter when it comes to celebs. Seen everywhere from across Instagram to a...

Kate Middleton Just Wore the Trend I’d Happily Ditch My Skinny Jeans For

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been active on Zoom calls with charities throughout the pandemic, but this week they decided to take the show on the road. They embarked on a socially-distanced and masked train tour to support people and programs that have helped with COVID-19 relief efforts. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled to Scotland and Wales—and yes, they really did take the train. Middleton wore a total of five different outfits during the tour, including some festive holiday-themed looks. But my favorite was when she wore wide-leg trousers with a sleek coat and heels. I’m obsessed with wide-leg pants and would gladly trade my skinny jeans for them because they look so polished without trying hard. Plus, they’re great for...

Burberry Is Donating Leftover Fabrics to Fashion Students Across the Country

Burberry continues its commitment to sustainable practices and young creatives by launching ReBurberry Fabric in partnership with the British Fashion Council (BFC). The initiative plans to donate leftover Burberry fabrics to fashion students across the country who need a bit of extra help after a rough year. ReBurberry Fabric is a part of the BFC’s Positive Fashion and Colleges Council initiative, with help from fashion journalists Charlie Porter and Sarah Mower. Fabric donations will be facilitated by the BFC with plans to be made available to the remainder of the fashion industry — in an effort to inspire other brands and colleges to support future talent in sustainable ways. “One of the BFC’s priorities is to encourage the industry to move towards a circular fashion ec...
