Sienna Miller has always been an advocate of high-low fashion. One day the actress might be dressed to the nines in a designer gown for a red carpet event, and the next she is seen sporting a high-street coat. With all the access one could ever want, Miller often chooses to don affordable items and that’s just one of the many things we love about the actress’s enviable fashion sense. Further proving her penchant for attainable style, this week Sienna was spotted out and about in New York wearing a pair of wide-leg beige trousers by beloved high-street label Mango. In a summer-friendly cotton-blend fabric, the trousers feature a high-waist, belted detailing and just so happen to be on sale. They’re currently retailing for £20. Of course, it...
The 2020 Virgin Media BAFTA television awards are coming to you live, this Friday 31 July on BBC One. To celebrate the biggest night in British telly, a handful of nominees are sharing some glamorous, personality-filled portraits ahead of the anticipated award ceremony — all shot remotely by acclaimed British photographer Rankin. The virtual nominees photo shoot, “all dressed up, with nowhere to go”, is a joint effort curated by Virgin Media and BAFTA. The series includes intimate photos of Naomi Ackie, Stephen Graham, Ncuti Gatwa, Suranne Jones, and others in their best at-home awards show outfits. “I am so excited to have shot the 2020 Virgin Media BAFTAs nominee portraits,” said Rankin in a press statement. “Despite the limitations, we have created a memora...
When it comes to nail colours, I personally like to play it safe. November to March I’m a CND Oxblood disciple (thanks Monikh for that addiction), but once spring and summer come around, I’m all about those understated neutrals. Call me a minimalist but I’ve never been one for fancy nail art, or a constant rotation of different colours. Not because I’m not a fan— some of the recent lockdown looks filling Instagram almost had me reaching for the nail pen. It’s mainly because I’m just awful at doing my own nails and unfortunately don’t have the patience, or money, to visit the salon every week. I like my manis to work hard and that’s exactly what a neutral does. Whether it’s a creamy beige, chic taupe or pale pink, neutrals are arguably the most versatile nail colour you...
Do you ever find yourself scrolling through Instagram, only to be struck by a really great piece of clothing? Maybe it’s a particularly chic puff sleeve shirt, or the dress that seems to be infiltrating the feeds of several stylish influencers. Often when this happens, the first instinct is to find out where the item is from, though it’s not always the easiest thing to do. That’s why here at Who What Wear, we often take the time to hunt down the specific items of clothing you see online, whether it be a trending summer sandal or a highly coveted silk skirt. Today, we’re here to talk all things trending tops, so whether you’ve seen Zeena Shah in that multicoloured Ganni blouse and wondered where you can get it, or you’ve spotted Anne...
At the beginning of the year, we already knew which designer bags were going to dominate in 2020. How did we predict correctly? Well, it’s a lot more than just guesswork. We spend time speaking to brands, buyers and looking at what’s trending in the fashion industry to see which bags are going to come out on top during the year. Of course, cult buys and new brands can emerge at any moment surprising even the most seasoned of fashion buyers and editors, but there are certain new styles that I guarantee we’ll be talking about as hero buys this December. That said, we didn’t know the pandemic was coming and the financial implications of that on the fashion industry and personal budgets. However, despite this, global fashion search platform Lyst revealed...
Like most people, I love the summer months. I love that I don’t have to worry about bulky coats ruining my outfits, I love being able to be outside and actually enjoy it and, most of all, I love lapping up all of that vitamin D. However, that’s not to say that I don’t seriously struggle with the heat. While the summer usually leaves my skin glowing and my hair subtly sun-kissed, withstanding the uncomfortable heat sometimes makes it feel like it’s not worth it. It makes me lethargic, agitated and flustered. On top of that, hot weather can really take its toll on our summer beauty routines, too. From melting foundation to sweat-inducing moisturisers, there’s nothing enjoyable about trying to beautify yourself in 25+ climes. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking...
Back in June, when we’d had three months of lockdown, it felt like the prospect of a holiday was completely out of the question. Now, however, deep into July and almost August, it’s a different situation entirely. Plenty of people are jetting off. Of course, that might not be the case for everyone right now, so it’s worth noting that just because many have decided to go away, it’s okay if you’re not. But if you have managed to wrangle that plane ticket and are about to go to warmer climes, then allow us to be the fashion guidebook on what to pack for your holiday. Putting together a sunny holiday packing list might sound tiresome, but for a stress-free vacay, especially when you need to travel with your own mask and hand sanitiser right no...
My obsession with the collared knit was reignited when I spotted Shrimps’ adorable crystal-button statement-collar cardigan on Matches, and it instantly sparked a search for alternatives, both on the high street and second-hand. There is plenty to choose from, whether you’re wanting a preppier sweater, cosy cardigan, crocheted number or something with shorter sleeves. We’ll be wearing ours now tucked into straight-leg jeans and accessorised with a chunky chain necklace. Then come autumn, we’ll be adding it to leather trousers with a blazer thrown over the top. Now that’s what we call versatile. Scroll down to see and shop the collared-jumper styles that are on our minds right now. Happy browsing! You Deserve to Make Money E...
The result was everything I’d hoped for. Subtle hints of blonde shone through the lengths, blending seamlessly into my natural colour at the roots. A couple of years later, and it seemed this new hair colour trend had a name: balayage. While for decades, hair-colouring techniques in the UK had been based solely around a strict menu of block colour, full-head highlights, half-head highlights or T-section highlights, leading UK hairstylists were starting to adopt more tailored, international techniques, and balayage was the first big movement. Since that moment, I’ve more or less stuck to my balayage roots (pun totally intended) and only really switched up my colour to experiment with other forms of balayage. And in all honesty, I’m not sure I’ll ever look back. When it comes to going to the...

However, while much of my collection comes from market stalls and independent shops that are difficult to trace back, my love of soaps has turned into a personal mission to uncover the best soaps out there. Along with candles, fancy hand soaps have become a default whenever I fancy treating myself to something I wouldn’t ordinarily buy, which I then use on rotation depending on the time of year, or a particular scent I’m pining for. Friends and family have also commented that they anticipate seeing which soap – be it a liquid or a bar – I’ll have sitting on my sink when they next visit. Over time, I’ve tried just about every soap out there and, of course, I have my favourites. So, whether you’re a fellow soap aficionado or you simply want to elevate your bathroom, scroll below to see the b...
As a Fashion Editor, it is often a prerequisite of the job to keep informed of new brand launches and up-and-coming buzzy labels, though with such a saturated market, it can feel like an information overload. With an inbox full of press releases and new brands popping up on Instagram everyday, there’s is hardly enough time to keep up with it all, which is why when you discover a brand the cuts through the noise, you know they’re destined for great things. This summer, I’ve had that experience with few times, finding new brands that have really managed to capture my attention. From newly launched swim labels with inclusivity at their core to sustainably-minded ready-to-wear brands that don’t compromise on style, there is so much talent...
