The Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday released a video showing the assassination of five humanitarian workers who were recently abducted along Monguno area of Borno state. The insurgents had earlier demanded about $500,000 dollars ransom before the abducted workers can be released. In a video released on Wednesday, the abducted humanitarian workers were all executed. The message, left by the Boko Haram terrorist, reads: “We are sending this as a very strong message to you unbelievers and infidels. And to those of you that are being used by these infidels to repent. “You are working for them but they do not have any concern about you. “You worked for them to achieve their goals but they are very far from your plight. They do not show you any care. Look at you now. When we kidnap you they d...
The oil and gas industry is embracing digital transformation. As a traditional pillar of the energy sector, the oil and gas industry has always had an important part to play in the energy field. However, these are challenging times. On one hand, the industry is subject to increasingly complex mining conditions and, with that, higher mining costs. On the other, it is faced with tumbling global oil prices that bring new challenges to all players in the field. In such circumstances, how can Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, cloud, and 5G technologies be used to increase efficiency while reducing costs? This is now the key concern of all oil companies. In sum, it is beyond doubt that the implementation of digital transformation has become a key factor determining the success of oil compa...

The international shipping community is facing a major labour crisis, with sailors stranded on ships or at home because of visa and flight restrictions, maritime groups said. With crew changes down by 75 per cent, a humanitarian crisis is also developing, with sailors suffering mental health problems, fatigue and accidents from being trapped for months at a time on ships. With more than 200,000 sailors unable to leave their vessels and a similar number trying to get out to them, international shipping bodies believe the world economy is weeks from another disaster. Last week, only 13 countries including the UAE, Britain and the United States, signed up to an agreement to designate sailors as key workers, allowing them to fly home without quarantine or visa issues. But other major seafaring...
Source: Stephanie Keith / Getty In the increasingly partisan push-and-pull of Washington politics, testiness is becoming a hallmark between the opposing members of Congress. A line was possibly crossed however when a Republican Party congressman reportedly referred to Democratic Party congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a “f*cking b*tch” after approaching her outside the U.S. Capitol steps. New York’s Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC as she’s often referred to as, retold the story of an encounter she had Florida’s Rep. Ted Yoho, stating she was “accosted” by her Republican colleague verbally. AOC retweeted a story from The Hill regarding the reported verbal exchange between her and Yoho, hitting back at her counterpart in a caption for the retweet. “I never spoke to Rep. Yoho before he dec...
