Dubai Hosted a Three-Day Event to Reveal Atlantis The Royal

Over the weekend, Dubai celebrated the grand reveal of the new Atlantis The Royal. Adjacent to the Atlantis The Palm, the new property hosted a three day event of luxurious events and experiences.

Crafted by the world’s leading designers, architects and artists, the ultra-luxurious Dubai resort includes 44 suites with their own private infinity pools, an infinity pool on the 22nd floor with views over the Palm Island, the largest jellyfish aquarium in the world, a water fountain show that breathes fire as well as a collection of celebrity chef restaurants and bars.

Day One

As part of its kick-off last Friday, the destination hosted a “Feast of Dreams.” Guests attended the dining adventure to toast the opening of Atlantis The Royal’s eight brand new celebrity chef restaurants alongside Nobu Matsuhisa, Jose Andres, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, Mich Turner and Gaston Acurio all under one roof for one night only.

Dinner was followed by a party at the property’s outdoor restaurant and lounge, Cloud 22, to celebrate Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand, 818, making its debut in Dubai. Featuring cabanas with private plunge pools while overlooking the city’s skyline, the venue is expected to become an iconic entertainment and nightlife destination in Dubai.

Day Two

The property hosted a Blue Carpet event with influencers, artists and models such as Jay-Z, Kendall Jenner, Gauri Khan from around the globe and dinner to lead up to the the most anticipated event of the weekend, the live performances.

Dubai is no stranger to hosting big names, but what Beyoncé brought to the weekend was far from a regular performance. After a four-year hiatus from performing live, the artist took the stage for 60 minutes and incorporated music, dance and fashion from the region with three outfits, two including dresses by Arab designers.

Keeping with the Renaissance theme, the first look chosen was Dubai-based Atelier Zuhra’s yellow gown and after an outfit change, Beyoncé was back on stage in a red dress by Lebanese designer, Nicolas Jebran.

The multiple Grammy winning artist was not alone. Apart from the dancers and the rest of her crew were also Arabic instrument players as well as the Lebanese all-female, America’s Got Talent 2022 winning dance group, The Mayyas.

The 60-minute set included localized sounds as well as a never-before-heard Arabic renditions by the artist during the opening run of “Countdown”.

With Beyoncé’s performance ending with choreographed water fountains and fireworks, Swedish House Mafia took the stage with a set to go into the after-party.

Day Three

The final day included a brunch to celebrate the opening of Nobu’s first ever pool and beach club, “Nobu by the Beach.” With an appearance by Nobu Matsuhisa and Rebel Wilson, the opening ceremony led into a day of sushi, skewers, fresh sake and music.

Guests will be able to visit Atlantis The Royal starting February 10 when the destination is officially open.
