Atlanta rappers Gunna, Future and Young Thug have secured the first RIAA gold certification of the year for their single “Pushin’ P.”
The song, which went viral on social media instantly upon its release, comes off of Gunna’s January LP DS4Ever. As the fourth and final installment in his Drip Season mixtape franchise, following 2018’s Drip Season 3, DS4Ever quickly became the rapper’s highest-charting project. The album ultimately beat out The Weeknd’s Dawn FM and secured the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
In addition to the heavy-hitting Atlanta rappers behind the track, fans were drawn to the song for its eponymous “Pushin’ P” motto. “Man, Pushin P, it’s like a lifestyle,” Gunna explained in an interview with Vibe. “It’s like anything you’re doing that’s positive or just player…or just anything you can just think of that’s cool.”
