Cloud Nine has officially announced Zipangu 2026, produced in partnership with Goldenvoice, bringing a massive one-day celebration of Japanese music and culture to the United States for the first time. Set to take place on May 16 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the event is designed as an immersive experience that extends far beyond the main stage.
Zipangu marks a groundbreaking moment in the global expansion of Japan’s contemporary music scene, blending high-impact performances with the country’s rich culinary traditions. Anchoring the Japanese music event is a stellar roster of internationally ascendant artists, led by the boundary-breaking utaite Ado, who will deliver a rare 60-minute performance. She is joined by heavy hitters such as ATARASHII GAKKO!, CHANMINA, HANA, MAN WITH A MISSION, Yuki Chiba, and 10-FEET. Notably, every artist on the bill is slated to perform full-length sets, representing a visually bold and creatively fearless music movement.
Beyond the music, Zipangu is actively bringing the vibrant spirit of Japan’s street culture to California. Organizers are constructing the Rose Bowl Yokocho, a dedicated food and beverage experience designed to recreate the distinct atmosphere of Tokyo’s iconic back-alley dining districts. This dynamic space offers a carefully curated selection of Japanese cuisine and drinks, shining a spotlight on the nation’s deeply rooted creative energy. By merging anime, manga, and fashion influences with world-class live production, Zipangu is establishing a powerful new gateway for cultural exchange and fan connection. Hypebeast will also be on the ground at the event, capturing how Japanese music, food, fashion, and youth culture come together in a live environment for audiences in California.
