Kojima Previews New Content for ‘Death Stranding: Director’s Cut’

Over at Gamescom 2021, Hideo Kojima and his Kojima Productions have finally offered fans a closer look at what’s to come in Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.

Featured above, the almost nine-minute preview trailer brings players back into the grim and expansive world of Death Stranding, with additional content showcased across the clip. Developers promise “more weapons, equipment and vehicles, a variety of new modes, missions and areas to explore, expanded storylines, and enhancements to the UI.” There’ll also be new online elements including Friend Play and various Leaderboards so you can measure yourself against the greats.

Teased back in June, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is an extended version of the original PlayStation 4 title, this time geared exclusively towards the PlayStation 5. As you’d expect, it’ll support 4K resolutions and haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features through the next-gen console’s DualSense controllers. Those who already own the original game will be able to upgrade it to the PlayStation 5 version for $10 USD, and cross-saves will be maintained.

For the Kojima fans out there, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will arrive September 24.

Elsewhere in gaming, Halo Infinite has received an official release date.
