Marilyn Manson will not face any charges after a years-long investigation into sexual assault and domestic abuse allegations, prosecutors announced on Friday (January 24th).
According to the Associated Press, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman explained that the allegations fell outside the statute of limitations and that there wasn’t sufficient evidence against Manson.
“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” stated Hochman.

He added, “We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation.”
The allegations of abuse dated from 2009 to 2011, with the investigation beginning in 2021. None of the women involved in this case have been identified by the prosecutors, although Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco did reveal that she was part of the criminal investigation.
Bianco separately sued Manson in a case that has since been settled. At a press conference this past October condemning previous L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón for his inaction related to the case, Bianco stated, “Almost four years ago, I did what victims of rape are supposed to do: I went to the police. I described to them in agonizing detail how the rock musician Brian Warner — better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson — had raped and abused me over the course of our relationship.”
Manson was hit with a bevy of allegations starting in February 2021, when his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood accused the shock rocker of abuse, stating, “I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
The accusations immediately put a halt to Manson’s entertainment career, as he was dropped from his record label as well as a few acting gigs. He re-emerged last year, touring with Five Finger Death Punch, inking a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records, and releasing a new album titled One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1.
Earlier this week, Manson announced a headlining spring North American tour. As of this posting, he has not released a statement related to the charges being dropped against him.
