Sports world reacts to Iowa football discrimination lawsuit news - Hawk Central

Monday delivered a massive development in the University of Iowa football discrimination lawsuit, with the university opting to settle with the plaintiffs for $4.175 million.

While there was certainly interest in that element of the update, the much stronger reactions came in response to Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand saying he would oppose using taxpayer funds for the settlement unless UI athletics director Gary Barta was ousted. The state is set to pick up $2 million, with the athletic department covering the rest.
