Maya Hawke, star of Stranger Things and eldest child of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, has announced her sophomore album, Moss. It drops September 23rd, and as a preview she’s shared the lead single, “Thérèse.” Hawke announced the follow-up to 2020’s Blush during an appearance on The Tonight Show this week, where she also said, “Fuck the Supreme Court,” and claimed “I don’t remember” what happened in Season 4 of Stranger Things. When host Fallon asked about her new song, “Thérèse,” she explained, “There’s a painting at the Met, and it’s called Thérèse Dreaming, and it’s the name of the girl in the painting, and it’s a song about the girl in the painting, who in my head is me.” The single itself is folksy and whimsical. “I go to see Thérèse dr...

When Diaz says she’s anxious about announcing her return, Foxx gives a hand-off to Tom Brady, who hops on the line to offer some advice. “I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to unretire,” Brady quips. “I’m relatively successful at unretiring.” For those who don’t pay attention to American football, the future Hall of Fame quarterback retired from the NFL earlier this year for a grand total of 40 days before announcing he was rejoining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tayla Parx Demands Her “Flowers” on New Single: Stream

Over the past decade, Tayla Parx’s work as both a solo artist and a hitmaking songwriter for the likes of Ariana Grande and BTS has earned her the right to demand recognition. That’s the concept of her new single, “Flowers,” out today, June 29th, via her own TaylaMade Records. The uptempo track is brimming with confidence and demonstrates Parx’s talent for simple, yet effective pop songwriting. “I go Aretha when I get my respect,” she pronounces. “So if you’re coming for me, know you better come correct/ I’m big on promises, it’s never a threat.” “‘Flowers’ is about living your life in the present and showing your loved ones, including YOURSELF, how much they mean to you in the now instead of waiting until it’s too late,” said Parx in a statement. “Flowers represent life and living, and th...

LUCI Pops Off on Debut Single “Ash & Dust”: Stream

LUCI has signed to Don’t Sleep Records and unveiled her debut single, “Ash & Dust,” a wildly original statement that points towards the future of hip-hop. The artist born Lucianna Ania is a trip-hop veteran, and as part of the now-defunct band Defbeat she was influenced by groups like Death Grips and Massive Attack. But if “Ash & Dust” is any indication, her solo project will vibe check everything from punk and gospel to Kanye West. The track opens with waves of dark synths before stripping back to layers of skittering percussion. Her words are about transformation, but her delivery is somewhere between a rap and a howl, with occasional yips and warbles that suggest being demolished and reborn is even less pleasant than you might imagine. Steve Carell Recalls the Time He Waited on His Doppelgänger Alice Cooper: Watch

During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (June 28th), actor Steve Carell recalled the time he waited on his look-alike, rocker Alice Cooper. In the same conversation, Carell also offered up a hilarious impression of Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler. While Carell was on the Tonight Show to promote his new movie Minions: The Rise of Gru, Fallon busted out side-by-side images of The Office star and the veteran shock rocker, clearly displaying the uncanny resemblance. The late-night host wondered if Carell ever met the rock legend, and it turns out he did. “I met Alice Cooper,” responded Carell. “I waited on him when I was working in Chicago, when I was waiting tables. I was working at a restaurant, and he came in. And he was Alice Cooper. And he could...

Julia Roberts and George Clooney Book a Nightmare Destination Wedding in Trailer for Ticket to Paradise: Watch

The trailer for the upcoming Julia Roberts and George Clooney-starring romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise was revealed on June 29th, and it seems like the itinerary offers little rest or relaxation and a bit more revenge and reconciliation for its reluctant guests. Set in idyllic Bali, the movie centers around “exes who find themselves on a shared mission to stop their lovestruck daughter from making the same mistake they once made.” Though, as the trailer suggests, there might be some willingness between the two leads to reconsider the past and even rekindle their former spark as their obvious chemistry can’t help but shine through. Despite the messy beer pong games, dolphin attacks, and nonstop verbal jabs like Roberts’ sarcastic “It’s a mystery you’re still alone” or Clooney’s “Worst 19...
