Roddy Ricch Arrested After Attempting to Enter Governors Ball with Loaded Firearm

Roddy Ricch missed his scheduled set at Governors Ball on Saturday after he was stopped trying to enter the festival’s grounds with a loaded weapon. TMZ reports that Ricch and two other individuals were arrested after police officers allegedly found a loaded firearm inside the vehicle that was transporting them to the festival. The rapper is facing four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity ammo feeding device, and unlawful possession of that device, and is expected to be arraigned on Monday. Ricch wasn’t the only Governor Ball performer who missed their scheduled set this weekend. Migos pulled out of the festival at the last-minute, and were replaced by Lil Wayne, who missed his set due to plane problems, and was replaced by A$AP Ferg. Advertisement Rel...

Paris Hilton Chose Britney Spears’ Wedding Over DJing for President Biden

The jury is in: Britney Spears just might be more important than the president of the United States. The pop star’s wedding last Thursday brought together a monumental crowd of A-listers, including longtime pal Paris Hilton — who claims she skipped out on DJing at President Biden’s Summit of Americas dinner to attend the nuptials instead. Hilton spoke briefly about the wedding on an impromptu episode of her podcast This Is Paris: “I was actually asked to DJ for the president and all of the other presidents from around the world for the dinner, but this was more important to me,” she said, still recovering from the prior night’s festivities. The socialite went on to say that she didn’t want anyone to know she’d be going to Spears’ wedding beforehand. “Literally, I did not tel...

Britney Spears Granted Restraining Order Against Ex-Husband Who Crashed Her Wedding

Britney Spears has been granted a restraining order against her ex-husband, Jason Alexander, after he broke into her home Thursday during her wedding to her longtime partner Sam Asghari. “I thank the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office for their good work,” Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart said in a press statement (via Billboard). “This was an outrageous and disgraceful security breach and I hope law enforcement does everything possible to ensure Mr. Alexander is fully and vigorously prosecuted and convicted for his criminal actions.” Rosengart also noted that an Emergency Protective Order, which expire after five to seven calendar days, had been put in place. EPOs function like restraining orders, but can be put into effect much more quickly, making them useful for urgent cases. Advertiseme...

9-Year-Old Girl Masters Tool’s Complex 15-Minute Song “7empest” on Guitar: Watch

Tool’s complex 15-minute opus “7empest” is a difficult cover for anyone to attempt. Don’t tell that to 9-year-old guitar shredder Maya Neelakantan. In the YouTube clip, Neelakantan puts on a Nandi Bushell-esque display of talent as she expertly darts around the fretboard. Adam Jones wrote some deft guitar parts for the Fear Inoculum track, and it appears he has a worthy understudy in Neelakantan, if ever needed. She even emulates his wah pedal footwork. As she explains in the introduction to the video, Maya was inspired to play her “most favorite song” after receiving a brand new Gibson Les Paul guitar for her ninth birthday last month. Of note, Jones famously plays a Les Paul and even has his own line of signature models with Gibson. Advertisement Related Video “This is my most favorite s...

Rap Song of the Week: Eva B’s “Rozi” Is a Banger Without Borders

Rap Song of the Week is a Friday round-up of the hip-hop tracks you need to hear. Check out the full playlist here. Today, we highlight Pakastani rapper Eva B’s “Rozi,” which was featured in the premiere episode of Ms. Marvel. In music you can fake almost anything except urgency. Anger comes naturally, longing is as easy as yawning, but real urgency — a desperate need to get these thoughts out now — is so special it transcends language. “Rozi” may be rapped in Urdu, but its message resonates equally in English; a banger without borders. Eva B — not her real name — has been called Pakistan’s first female rapper, and the decision to keep her face and identity hidden has as much to do with safety as religious practice. “Lonely difficult times to cut alone,” she spits in a translation provided...

Truth Social Bans Users Who Discuss Trump’s Role in January 6th Insurrection

On Thursday, the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol made a clear case that Donald Trump was at the center of the failed insurrection, but you wouldn’t know it from Truth Social. Several people using Trump’s so-called “Free Speech” platform reported that they received bans after posting about the committee hearings. “My Truth Social account was just permanently suspended for talking about the January 6th Committee hearings,” Travis Allen, an information security analyst, wrote on Twitter. “I was suspended from Truth Social for posting about the January 6th hearing last night,” Democratic digital strategist Jack Cocchiarella reported. “Donald Trump is scared of free speech.” Advertisement Related Video Max Burns, communications director ...

Peaches Christ and Thomas Dekker on Reviving Their Camp Cult Horror Classic for a New Era

For lovers of horror, camp, and the bloody glee that comes with combining these two things, this month marks a special occasion: the re-release of All About Evil, the first feature-length film directed by Joshua Grannell, a.k.a. horror drag legend Peaches Christ. As Peaches Christ, Grannell has toured the country with the Midnight Mass cult horror road show, and hosts a podcast of the same name celebrating cult film. “Growing up and being a subscriber to Fangoria magazine and being a kid that loved horror movies, I saw cult films as being a very specific kind of movie that fit into a specific set of tropes, and certainly being transgressive was one of them,” he tells Consequence. “But over time, I would say that, probably because of doing the Midnight Mass movie series and also having the ...

Post Malone Reveals Insane Personal Record for Most Cigarettes Smoked in a Day

Post Malone has spilled the tea in a new interview about the depth of his infamous smoking habit. “On a really terrible day — there’s a very fine line between a terrible day and a good day… 40 to 45,” he told Full Send about how many cigarettes he tends to average per day. “By the time I ask Ben for that second pack I’m like, ‘Alright dude, chill out,’ you know. But by the time I open that third pack I’m like, ‘I’m a total piece of shit and I need to go to sleep.’” As for the most cigarettes he’s ever smoked in a day, Posty admitted that number is about double his daily average. “Probably like 80,” he confessed before adding, “I used to [smoke in my bed] but not really anymore. Now I have a special zone that has my PC in it and my Magic: The Gathering shit, so I just go down there an...

Song of the Week: “Run BTS,” You Gotta Run

Song of the Week breaks down and talks about the song we just can’t get out of our head each week. Find these songs and more on our Spotify Top Songs playlist. For our favorite new songs from emerging artists, check out our Spotify New Sounds playlist. This week, BTS return to their roots with the swaggering, confident “Run BTS.” “Okay, let’s go,” SUGA directs at the start of “Run BTS,” one of the new tracks on BTS’ anthology album, PROOF (out today, June 10th). The album is dense, 48 tracks pulled from the group’s nine years of activity so far. “Run BTS” is one of the brand new offerings, kicking off Disc 2 of the three-part collection. The title of the song has nothing to do with BTS’ longstanding variety show of the same name, and everything to do with the fact that ...
