Skylar Grey Had to Sell Her Entire Catalog to Finance Her Divorce
Skylar Grey is the songwriter behind such hit singles as as Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie” and Diddy’s “Coming Home.” Recently, she was forced to sell the rights to his entire musical catalog in order to finance her divorce from ex-husband, Elliott Taylor. “Since 2017 I was going through a divorce and lawsuit, that was just wrecking me emotionally and financially,” Grey told Variety, explaining that her radio silence in recent years was due to the legal dispute. “This past year, 2021, we finally resolved it, settled, I had to sell my catalog in order to afford the settlement, which was very sad in a way, because those songs like ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and Coming Home,’ those are my babies. Fontaines D.C. Announce Fall 2022 US Tour, Share “Roman Holiday” Video: Watch
Fontaines D.C. fans who missed out on their recently wrapped North American tour now have a chance to catch the Irish rockers during newly announced Fall 2022 dates across the US. The fall run kicks off on September 16th in San Diego with subsequent stops in cities including Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, and Baltimore. Dave Chappelle to Donate Buffalo Show Proceeds to Shooting Victims
Dave Chappelle is donating the proceeds from a recent standup show in Buffalo, New York to the families of those killed in the May 14th mass shooting in the city. Chappelle performed Sunday, June 5th, at Buffalo’s Shea’s Performing Arts Center after surprise announcing the show last week. According to TMZ, all of the ticket sales from the sold-out, 3,000-capacity venue will be donated to the local community. An 18-year-old opened fire at a Buffalo Tops Friendly Market on May 14th, driving hours across New York state to target a predominantly Black neighborhood. Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the creators of the smash hit German series Dark, are back with an English-language follow-up that promises to be just as mysterious and twisted. 1899 is coming to Netflix later this year, and the first teaser trailer is out now. 1899 — not to be confused with the Yellowstone prequel 1883 — stars Emily Beecham (Hail, Caesar!) as Maura Franklin. Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Jason Leigh are set to star in Season 5 of Fargo, Deadline reports. The next installment of Noah Hawley‘s anthology will be the FX series’ most contemporary yet, set in 2019. While not much is known about the plot of Season 5, Temple, Ham, and Leigh will play Dot, Roy, and Lorraine, respectively. Kevin Hart Expands 2022 “Reality Check Tour”
Kevin Hart has expanded his 2022 “Reality Check Tour” all the way through December. This new leg, which commences in October, adds 19 nights to Hart’s first outing in over four years. The comedian will now make stops in San Diego, Toronto, Portland, Seattle, and his hometown of Philadelphia, to name a few. Hart originally announced the “Reality Check Tour” back in February. Paul Vance, the songwriter behind “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” has died. He was 92 years old. Vance was born Joseph Paul Florio in Brooklyn, New York on November 4th, 1929. His career as a hit songwriter began in the famous Brill Building, where he partnered with Lee Pockriss to write more than 300 songs like Perry Como’s “Catch a Falling Star” in 1957 and Brian Hyland’s “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” in 1960 — both of which became No. 1 hits of the bubblegum pop era. Trouble, Atlanta Rapper, Shot and Killed at 34
Atlanta rapper Trouble was shot and killed outside of an apartment complex in Conyers, Georgia on Sunday, June 5th. He was 34 years old. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office told WSB-TV Atlanta that Trouble (born Mariel Semonte Orr) was shot around 3:20 a.m. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have identified 33-year-old Jamichael Jones of Atlanta as a suspect, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
