Content warning: This article contains descriptions of sexual assault. In Molly Shannon’s new book Hello, Molly!, she recalled a disturbing encounter with Diff’rent Strokes star Gary Coleman, though the way she tells it, the incident was not without humor. Back when Shannon was a young, struggling actress, Coleman attempted to sexually assault her, but he was so small that she “didn’t feel physically threatened,” and managed to literally toss him aside. Shannon detailed the story in an April 12th appearance on The Howard Stern Show. In the late 1980s, the future Saturday Night Live star thought she had caught her big break when she attracted the attention of agent Mark Randall, who also represented Coleman. But a meeting with Randall turned out to be a se...

German metal queen Doro Pesch weighed in on the war in Ukraine in a new interview with TotalRock‘s Dawn Osborne. The 57-year-old singer said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I believe you can get along with everybody, even when they have a different opinion or different background or different mentality. “I’m born in the ’60s, but I know my mom, she escaped the [Second World] War, and now all her memories come back,” she continued. “And I think she escaped with her naked feet. She had to, whatever, run with her mom, and now all these memories come back. And she always tells me about it. She never told me about the war situation [before]; I think she was, like, eight, nine years old. And she broke her foot and then she still had to escape. And...

In a new interview with Shawn Ratches of Laughingmonkeymusic, TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for his upcoming first-ever solo album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I recruited guitar players and I told guitar players that I’ve recruited, ‘Just write me a song. But don’t write a TESTAMENT song and a thrash song. I wanna write something different than that. Write me something either bluesy, real heavy, more rock. I grew up in an era of loving THIN LIZZY and UFO and bands like that, so write some cool THIN LIZZY-style riffs.’ But I really wanted it to be a record where it really took it back, kept it simple, kept it dry — no sampled drums and triggered kicks. Just make it rock, like the old record...

New York indie rockers Wild Pink are back with a new song. Listen to the shoegazey single “Q. Degraw” below. “Q. Degraw” is a spacey, ethereal number, with steady drums marching over a blissed-out fuzz guitar. John Ross’ voice proves nearly unintelligible amid all the noise, but according to a press release, the singer is tackling some pretty serious emotions in the number. “This song is about my experiences with some health problems and how an extremely stressful situation can sharpen your focus on what’s important in life,” Ross said. “It’s also about how that stress can sometimes cause you to dissociate from yourself.” Advertisement Related Video The song stretches out for over six minutes, and despite its tough subject matter, it fades out on a warm, fulfilling note. Even better, Winde...

SANTA CRUZ frontman Archie Cruz has fired back at reports that he was “miming” to a track during the band’s performance last week in West Hollywood, California. On April 6, SANTA CRUZ — whose current lineup consists of Cruz along with new recruits Jerry Jade (guitar), Tommy Bradley (bass) and Randy McDemian (drums) — played a show at the legendary Whisky A Go Go venue. The following day, a fan-filmed video of SANTA CRUZ performing the song “Under The Gun” was posted on the “concertsrock” YouTube channel, showing Cruz at one point walking away from the microphone while the singing continued to be heard through the P.A. until Cruz, Jade and Bradley returned to their microphones for what was the song’s chorus section.
