APOCALYPTICA Is ‘Starting To Talk About’ Next Studio Album

Eicca Toppinen of Finnish cello metallers APOCALYPTICA spoke to Mexico’s Summa Inferno about his band’s plans for a follow-up to 2020’s “Cell-0” LP. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We have started to talk about the next possible album. But in the meanwhile, we’ve been recording individual songs so we could release something constantly. So now we have already [planned out the] three next releases after [the recent single] ‘I’ll Get Through It’. We’re gonna have something for the later [part] of the year as well; we’re gonna have something for the winter. So we are working on different fields — on the instrumental field, on some special fields and then also on the vocal field. “I would guess we’...

MEGADETH’s DAVE MUSTAINE: ‘If You Don’t Like What I’m Saying, F**k You’

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has blasted people who object to his stage banter, saying they shouldn’t be attending his band’s concerts anyway. The 60-year-old guitarist/vocalist, who has a history of making wacky political conjectures, made his comments during MEGADETH‘s performance last night (Tuesday, April 12) at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado as part of the group’s “The Metal Tour Of The Year” with LAMB OF GOD. Mustaine said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The last couple of nights I’ve been talking from the stage. It’s been a long time, and we’ve all been waiting for live music again. And there’s some people who have taken exception to some things that I’ve said from the stage the las...

RUDOLF SCHENKER On His Brother MICHAEL SCHENKER: ‘He Can Say Whatever He Wants To Say’

SCORPIONS guitarist Rudolf Schenker has once again responded to criticism from his brother Michael after the former UFO axeman accused him of being a “dangerous bully” who “takes advantage” his younger sibling. Michael Schenker gave a number of interviews in recent years in which he questioned his brother’s integrity, going so far as to call Rudolf “a con artist” who “completely adopted” Michael‘s image as his own. He also denounced the SCORPIONS for “distorting” the story of his brief tenure with the band and lamented the fact that he gave Rudolf his “portion” of the songwriting credit for the classic SCORPIONS song “Coast To Coast”. It all came to light, Michael said, when he was approached to...

Outer Range Is Yellowstone Meets Ozark Meets Stranger Things: Review

The Pitch: Stretched out over the sprawling plains and towering mountains of Wyoming, a kind of Hatfields and McCoys situation plays out between two neighboring ranch families — the Abbotts, led by firm but fair patriarch Royal (Josh Brolin), and the Tillersons, an out-there clan led by Wayne (Will Patton), an ailing land-grabber with his eyes on the Abbotts’ western pasture. But things turn ever more complicated when a mysterious drifter named Autumn (Imogen Poots) shows up at the Abbotts’ doorstep and asks to camp on their land (and can pay for the privilege), her motivations unknown. That same day, a tractor-sized hole opens up in the ground along — you guessed it — the Abbotts’ western pasture, a bottomless black pit covered in smoke, seemingly leading to nowhere. Where did it com...

Broadway’s Aladdin Dedicates Performance to Gilbert Gottfried: “Thanks for the Laughs”

Before the curtains dropped on the April 12th performance of Broadway’s Aladdin, the cast took a moment to honor the original Iago, Gilbert Gottfried, who had passed away earlier that day. “Tonight, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the life of a comedy legend,” Don Darryl Rivera, who plays the macaw Iago in the New York stage adaptation, said. “A funny man with an indelible voice. The man who breathed life into Iago for the animated film: Mr. Gilbert Gottfried.” In the 1992’s Aladdin, Gottfried stole every scene with a squawk. The character was so popular that Disney brought him back several times, including in 1994’s direct-to-video Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar, the animated Aladdin series that ran from 1994 to ’95, and in the anthology series H...

Veteran Goth Rockers The 69 Eyes Return with New Song “Drive”: Stream

The 69 Eyes have shared a music video for a new song titled “Drive.” It comes ahead of the veteran Finnish goth rockers’ 13th studio album, which is currently being recorded for a 2023 release. The track is an ’80s nostalgia trip with serious Billy Idol vibes. The driving riffs and husky, dominant vocals harken back to “White Wedding.” According to guitarist Bazie, the aforementioned decade was an inherent influence on the song. “The inspiration came from the same pool of music I have always liked, mostly from the ’80s,” Bazie said [via the band’s Facebook page]. “I never plan anything; just grab my guitar and see what comes up. We jammed a lot more as a band this time and came up with song ideas from all the guys. ‘Drive’ started from one little riff, which I had for a long time. It took ...
